I've heard many  southerners refer to  the north as NI

I remember  having to correct a Mayo man once for  talking about L*****derry

I mentioned that earlier today. A lot of people in the 26 counties are totaly clueless in terms of the north.

I find the term 'ni'totally disgusting. Who uses that term in writing or in speech.

There are a lot more things in life which are totally disgusting, terming something NI either by mistake or on purpose isn't really up there on the totally disgusting self

not a fan of the term myself but definitely agree with this

That was the gay pride march in maybe Kilkeel or a similar backward kip.

And lads if you can't see the difference in a march against genocide and a march to say we're better than you dirty fenians which led to 21 people in the past being murdered then I despair.

Anyway, the point of this whole discussion is Garvaghy not some whataboutery disguising Whiteys usual dig at brown people.

Absolutely false

The Palestinians Solidarity group with would be overwhelmingly Nationalist/Catholic marched through a town where they were not wanted and against the wishes of the local people....simple as

IPSC Lurgan, who organised the march is in no way shape or form sectarian no matter our make up so you can stop with this nonsense now

If it comes to a you object to my march and we will object to yours, Unionism has much more to lose. History would suggest that they will find some false equivalence in Irish culture, maybe the GAA, and target it.

Right...but the PC approved the Gaza march over the objections of the local residents

The local residents protested but didn't obstruct or prevent the parade from taking place

Next year- maybe they say, fvck it-we'll do the same as what they did on Garvaghy Rd
But then they lose the moral high ground and are reduced to the level of the republican rabble.
Some of the views held by both sides will change when the boot is on the other foot, we are good at that over here.

Strange choice of language.

Sorry you are targeting a faithful, Carla probably doesn't share my interest in the Derry Under 16 championship. (Or is it part of my cover)
For clarity'republican rabble' was my take on what our good friends and neighbours at Drumcree and elsewhere may think.

Green party very quiet. Has anyone seen or heard anything from them regarding the whole debacle. Came across a tweet from he journalist Malachi o Doherty questioning why the SDLP got involved. I know the guy comes across on the radio pro status quo but considering his background you would think he would be a bit more in touch with nationalism. Even the most moderate nationalists are very very angry about this whole mess and how it has been brought up again.

QuoteDon't give them an inch.
They took quite a few inches  yesterday when they marched from the top of the hill to the police land rovers (5 times apparently). But they gave them back  when they  marched back up to the top of the hill again.

The make up of a parade doesn't make it sectarian. And it wasn't just supported by nationalists/ catholics at all. Yes predominantly it prob was, but again that doesn't make it sectarian. So what was sectarian about the parade?

He agreed that the over the top use of totally disgusting was over the top for using that term? Wise up, you literally have no idea whose telling you porkies with regards to who'd vote for a UI..

The vast majority of PIP users, whether the same benefit is available in a UI would take that chance and come off the gravy train, that's the cold hard facts..

Making that choice will be theirs and for their reasons only.. Hopefully we do get a border poll in my life time, and I'd love to see the way certain areas voted
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Have to say I agree there. That term really pisses me off. Call it the temporarily occupied 6 counties or the North for short.
