Ban all parades for 20 years.

That would include St Patrick's Day parades and the like.
Ridiculous idea. Who the f**k wants that shit foisted upon them in 20 years?

Out of everything that's been happening that's the first thing that comes to mind to comment on. Jesus you really hate brown people don't you.
He has a point. Culture wars have two sides. If nationalists go to block all of their marches, they will do the same.
1 march blocked out of 2k plus?

Dougal Maguire

If I was a unionist I'd be very worried about its leadership when someone like Jamie Bryson is calling the shots here as they look on like lovesick teenagers

If it comes to a you object to my march and we will object to yours, Unionism has much more to lose. History would suggest that they will find some false equivalence in Irish culture, maybe the GAA, and target it.

Right...but the PC approved the Gaza march over the objections of the local residents

The local residents protested but didn't obstruct or prevent the parade from taking place

Next year- maybe they say, fvck it-we'll do the same as what they did on Garvaghy Rd
But then they lose the moral high ground and are reduced to the level of the republican rabble.
Some of the views held by both sides will change when the boot is on the other foot, we are good at that over here.

Did they not run a slurry tanker up part of the route in the Gaza march too?

That was the gay pride march in maybe Kilkeel or a similar backward kip.

And lads if you can't see the difference in a march against genocide and a march to say we're better than you dirty fenians which led to 21 people in the past being murdered then I despair.

Anyway, the point of this whole discussion is Garvaghy not some whataboutery disguising Whiteys usual dig at brown people.

Few things should be mentioned about this comparison.
Firstly the Gaza walk was not a sectarian march. Fairly big point and anyone trying to equate the two should be called out. Thats a point that's not highlighted enough for my liken.
Secondly if the parade was stopped by the PSNI and told it couldn't proceed safely then I'd say they would have taken a detour. They might not have been happy, but the reason for that parade was not to put the locals in their place. So I would hope they would be more receptive than the OO.

The people who objected to it certainly saw it that way

Absolutely false

The Palestinians Solidarity group with would be overwhelmingly Nationalist/Catholic marched through a town where they were not wanted and against the wishes of the local people....simple as

Good. The money saved will pay for us all to go to Chicago for St Patrick's Day.

We all know it wasn't. Shock horror the "Irish patriot" far right siding with the orange order and loyalism.

Paraphrasing Bryson/DUP? Don't think he meant that literally.
