Yes outside Bleary. The farmer responsible was spotted lol.

Quote from: trueblue1234 on September 28, 2026, 09:54:34 PMI wonder if the residents were to say, we'll let you finish your 1998 March if you agree it's the final one and you'll find a new route for all future matches. Then they turn out and turn their back on the 35 marchers.
Would it be worth it to put the issue to bed for good? Would it allow both sides to walk away with a victory.

FFS.

You can't compromise with Nazis.
We're sharing power with these people. I don't see many other solutions unless you have one that isn't to just continue what's happening? Especially now that the law sits with them. Things were different when they were legally restricted from marching.

If it comes to a you object to my march and we will object to yours, Unionism has much more to lose. History would suggest that they will find some false equivalence in Irish culture, maybe the GAA, and target it.

Right...but the PC approved the Gaza march over the objections of the local residents

The local residents protested but didn't obstruct or prevent the parade from taking place

Next year- maybe they say, fvck it-we'll do the same as what they did on Garvaghy Rd
It was on a Canal towpath, not through a residential area.

It was also mostly Loyalists from Belfast and Portadown who travelled to Scarva to throw abuse at the participants. Less than 500 people live in Scarva.

I've heard many  southerners refer to  the north as NI

I remember  having to correct a Mayo man once for  talking about L*****derry

I mentioned that earlier today. A lot of people in the 26 counties are totaly clueless in terms of the north.

I find the term 'ni'totally disgusting. Who uses that term in writing or in speech.

Substandard

Martin has always made it abundantly clear he wants nothing to do with the North or a United Ireland.  Between media and political inertia,  there is very little push towards unification, bar individual teachers express their own views on nationalism, it's very diluted through the school and subject curricula.
It's not so much that there isn't an appetite,  but very little is done to encourage it.

Quote from: Baile Brigín 2 on September 28, 2026, 07:23:12 PMHe has a point. Culture wars have two sides. If nationalists go to block all of their marches, they will do the same.

No he does not. The Gaza march did not pass through Scarva. Anyone in Scarva wanting to be offended by an anti-genocide march would have to walk across the railway line, across four fields, and peep over the hedge  before seeing it.
You have chosen to miss the point
What in the utter f**k would you know about marches or the oranger order anyway

Quote from: square_ball on September 28, 2026, 10:16:20 PMThe Ben Lowry suggestion would actually be the most sensible but can't see it happening. A stopped clock and all that...

Plus the Belfast Telegraph had a quote from one of the orangemen saying even if they are successful in getting down the road today or the next few days they'll be applying again for future marches.
Not a chance.

Give these c***ts an inch and they'll take a mile. You can guarantee they'll want a bigger and bigger parade every year. Time to put objections in to all parades through mixed/Catholic areas.

Orange c***ts could go take a look at proper culture and community spirit- great trad session on the side of the road last night!

Quote from: whitey on September 28, 2026, 07:12:51 PMSo what happens next year when the Great March for Gaza applies to the PC to march through Scarva, over the vehement objections of the local residents?

that march never went through Scarva

Quite possibly the opinion of a lot of ordinary people in the South. They have enough problems (real life problems) of their own to sort out in terms of housing etc without taking on this dump.

There are a lot more things in life which are totally disgusting, terming something NI either by mistake or on purpose isn't really up there on the totally disgusting self
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

That was the gay pride march in maybe Kilkeel or a similar backward kip.

And lads if you can't see the difference in a march against genocide and a march to say we're better than you dirty fenians which led to 21 people in the past being murdered then I despair.

Anyway, the point of this whole discussion is Garvaghy not some whataboutery disguising Whiteys usual dig at brown people.

it definitely happened on the march for Gaza mate
