It is an insight into the psyche that it's not the tonnes of marches that are allowed no bother they focus on it's the one that isn't.
Heard someone in the News saying 93% of Orange marches go-ahead without any restrictions.

They marched in Glenavy, Magherafelt and Newry yesterday, for example.
The way they're going on over this I think it's time a lot of those marches got a lot more opposition. That Newry one was a disgrace not helped by clueless cops directing traffic.

Yeah if not more.

Saw someone online (may have been on here) make a great point- if there was no one living on the Garvaghy road they would have 0 interest in it. It's the last sting of a dying wasp, they think they can do what they like still but those days are gone and won't be coming back

Fair point.

You are forgetting that unionists change their tune every 5 seconds to suit. Carla basically crying about the poor residents in scarva while hanging out with a masked mob and yet doesn't see any irony with her current position. Burrows saying there is no time to mess with this when Northern Ireland is in such a dire state with so many things need fixing yet only last week wanted debate with MON about how great NI was compared to the republic. All of them pretty much saying how awful it is and shows how protestants will be treated poorly in any future UI but sure f**k who cares how nationalists are treated right now lol, you couldn't make it up

And that's up to nationalists to point that out every 5 minutes. All these things need to be called out in a major way.

So what happens next year when the Great March for Gaza applies to the PC to march through Scarva, over the vehement objections of the local residents?

Out of everything that's been happening that's the first thing that comes to mind to comment on. Jesus you really hate brown people don't you.

So you can't answer the question

Fair enough

He has a point. Culture wars have two sides. If nationalists go to block all of their marches, they will do the same.

imtommygunn

There are very few though. The same boy also said how badly sf have handled themselves. They have handled themselves well in this and I am no fan. This is a manufactured scenario by unionists. If they blocked a march near scarva so be it.

Can you imagine they told the protesters to get off the road and let it through. They'd have been finished.

Just giving DUP taste of their own medicine. That glipe Givan went to an anti-immigration march in June then said he was there in a personal capacity not as education minister.

That's my point

I'm not agreeing with or supporting the Loyalists in Scarva for one moment, but doesn't this now give them the "moral high ground" when it comes to next years Gaza March

Ban all parades for 20 years.

Loyalists can't argue there is a right to march then object to marches. If it comes to a you object to my march and we will object to yours, Unionism has much more to lose. History would suggest that they will find some false equivalence in Irish culture, maybe the GAA, and target it.

Right...but the PC approved the Gaza march over the objections of the local residents

The local residents protested but didn't obstruct or prevent the parade from taking place

Next year- maybe they say, fvck it-we'll do the same as what they did on Garvaghy Rd

Ban all parades for 20 years.

That would include St Patrick's Day parades and the like.
