Keep 'em coming!

My pleasure, super show. I'll recommend another 'Animal Kingdom' 2016 with Ellen Barkin
Good man! I just looked at the reviews etc looks good alright. I'll check it out. I can't really quid pro quo.. sounds like you'd already know any big series I'd know. Thanks.

Animal Kingdom is a remake of an earlier Australian film that I highly recommend. One of Ben Mendelsohn's best roles.

Tony Baloney

I see Hugh Laurie is in s3 of Tehran on Apple. I have always assumed it's Iraeli propaganda shite and have never watched it. Anyone watched it to concur?

Watched first series, got anxiety watching it lol, but here's the thing, anything you watch will have 'their' spin on it..

Ireland, American, British all have made stuff that's slightly slanted

Fauda is another that could fall into that, Homeland is another and so on

My view is to watch it for entertainment purposes. Must get back into it

Gideon Raff was responsible for Prisoners of War (that was developed into Homeland). I remember buying that on DVD back in the day. It was a fantastic show.

Quote from: bennydorano on December 03, 2013, 11:16:21 PMAfter watching the first series on Sky Arts & the hoors not showing the 2nd, I bought Hatufim / Prisoners of War Boxset (directly from Israel, customs charge of £12 too the bastids). For anyone who watched series 1, series 2 is just f**king superb.

(This is the show that Homeland is based on).
Lol, knew id posted something bout it b4

I watched Fauda for a few episodes but stopped because of the obvious  pro Israel bias with smart warriors  v Palestinian fanatics, yet it was as if they also went to great lengths to fake a semblance of balance.
Tehran is a good bit different, you can whittle out political bias and enjoy the drama knowing its just drama.

It's pretty obvious considering that Iran's military prowess is paltry by Israel's standards, they have invested much into developing nuclear military prowess and in the same vein Israel has invested much into disrupting that process.

Tehran is very good. While it's obviously Israeli and she's an agent, it's a bit more subtle than Mossad = good, Iranians = bad.

As I said we watch some serious pro (stick your country bias in here) shows and not give it a thought..

I remember this moment many many years ago, I was staying with a family in Belgium as a kid and we went to the cinema to watch Highlander, so 1986, i was struck by the comments of the lad that I was staying with at the time after the film, we were both 14.

He was annoyed at the image that the film was showing, a western goody against an eastern baddie, I was busy talking about how Cindy was about to get her top off but he was very aware of the bias being showed

If we can get around the who's making it and so on and watch a show for 'entertainment' rather than obviously knowing there is a definite take politically being used here then we are smart enough to just enjoy it, or not lol.

On that I watched a Doc on the Argentinian taking of the Malvinas, Cest 82 I think, its always good to get a balanced view on how other countries view the war they were involved in

I watched a video on the cold war in an old nuclear bunker in moscow. Now there was some bias  ;D

tbrick18

Watched the last episode of Landman season 2 last night - it was ok.
This season didnt really hit the same note as season 1 but still decent watching.

Season was mostly shite with a good finale. Set up nicely for the next season.

Watched Confessions of a Killer last night on BBC Iplayer with the Dentist Colin Howell. It's mad how the church elders have such an influence over people within their communities.

He got away with it for so long, would have been thinking the RUC would have been mad to get him at that time as it involved one of their own and it was widely known Howell and Hazel Stewart had been having an affair.
