That is not the point you complete fuckwit. Nobody is arguing that the match had to go ahead.

You moronically started rabbiting on about McAlinden. He has not ordered the march to go ahead. He has not forced this march on the nationalist community. He was involved in the quashing of the determination against the original, annual application to march march back in July because, as has been shown repeatedly, the PC made a complete f**king balls of it.

They are not the same f**king thing. Get it through your skull into your tiny brain.

They are probably allowed a few subs to come in to the 35 man squad.
Lockhart saying there will be profound consequences of not following a ruling made by a commission about which she recently said "The Commissioners should now voluntarily resign, and I call on them to do the right thing and do so. If they do not, there is a clear obligation on the Secretary of State to remove them from office".
If only someone had listened to her.
Don't see a solution to this without something bad happening.

Nothing good could ever have come of this. It is a disaster. Lockhart knows what she's at. A vile nasty piece of work.

Neither  side will back down. Two options:

SoS /PSNI  declares march cancelled.

Or , they beat/water cannon the residents off  the road and force it down.

Both options will no doubt  result in widespread violence.

And we do it all again next  year .

The residents need to hold  it together, stick it out. If they can do that , this  march will never get down the Garvaghy Road again.

Chief Constable has to ask Bryant to step in and stop the march is my understanding.

This is clearly what needs to happen tonight but Boutcher won't do it as he knows the consequences.

I thought he pointedly hadn't. They told the PC and HC they could handle it with ease and then ordered a mass mobilisation- police in from Scotland.

Now admittedly so far so good, no violence. But they played fast and loose saying they could facilitate the narch.

I think Boucher would be easily enough to convince if Bryant wanted the march cancelled. Boucher is a Brit who's only here for a healthy pension, he could easily ask Bryant to cancel the march, suck up the flak for 6-9 months and retire back to England with a lump sum and his danger money. Clearly Byrant hasn't told him to request the march be cancelled.

Someone may correct me but SOS can only cancel if serious threat of public disorder having been asked by the Chief Constable. Parade permitted as there was no threat of violence.
The conclusion is there needs to be a few riots to stop this and other parades happening.
As ever I cannot see any long term benefit for Unionism. SF are bad and nationalists won't let us play seems to be the goal but that is message they have pushed forever.

Not according to William Crawley on Twitter. His tweet indicates that SOS can overrule the CC.

Also go easy on the name calling Gallsman. The inner smick is coming out again  ;D

If the courts gave the OO x window for their march, and that has passed, are they illegally assembling now?

No. The legislation recognises scenarios like that and allows the chief Constable considerable latitude. If they had fecked about and refused to walk today walk at the time they had applied to walk down then arguably the would be but be the "right" can not be frustrated by the actions of others otherwise it would have no teeth.

Yet on Friday the PSNI thought that the march could go ahead because there would be no trouble. Did they just ask Carla Loveheart and nobody else?

That's not quite correct. They told they had no specific information that trouble would occur. That was largely debated in the JR

He won't admit his mistake or deliberate misinformation. Should already have been fired after the Creswell cover up.

How badly have Unionism shot themselves in the foot over this?

Michelle O'Neill has been very good.

Good to see all nationalist parties standing together with the people of Garvaghey Road.

They'll not care. They've got the SF bogeyman to blame, they can say the law was on their side and stamp their feet and cry
