Kevin Bridges does a great comic piece on the UK being trillions in debt.

Merkel rings up Greece after their money issues and they start quoting proverbs to her.  :)  ;D

That's where the money goes. There's no less money in the world yet people keep saying there's no money about. It's just going to the "few"... Plus it used to circulate round a country's economy a lot more but now a lot of it goes out to "global" companies.

That's trickle down economics for you.

Nothing trickles down without a fight.

Yeah think about it- years ago you were doing your shop locally, clothes, food, household items- local business and the money they earned they'd have spent locally, now most people are spending their money on amazon, shein, tesco, sainsburys and the rich keep getting richer. As a very simple if one man has a billion pounds he'll spend it on property/stocks/shares and that money is tied up, if a million people have a grand each we'll spend it on things like food/nights out etc where it will circulate

Lads the days of the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker on your village High Street are over, people want convenience and cheap goods. I can have basically anything I can think of delivered to my doorstep within 24hours. Any type of food I can think of within an hour.
Our lives are better now than they were 50 years ago.

The butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker has been replaced by the vape shop, barber and pound shop.

I'm fooked, don't vape, no barbers in 27 years and the pound shop is a no no..

Amazon, unfortunately (from a globalist perspective) just have it sorted, shopping in the city center or the outlets is great, but they can't beat the prices or the choice due to storage and demand..

That said the wife has been on a spending spree this summer (teachers spend more money in the summer I've found) and the vast majority was found locally, I've also given the local hardware/builders store a few quid too! The cost of materials is through the roof..

Do any of the lads here buy cloths online or prefer to go to the shop? Can't remember buying any cloths online, ever
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

zAre there High Streets in the North? In the South it's mostly Main St

Towns without a butcher are sad imo. I love talking sport with the lads in our local butcher.

Life was better under the old system. Affordable houses. Could support family on 1 wage.

https://telegraph.co.uk/business/2020/02/27/cut-cost-living-working-families-will-pay-price/... "In 1985 the typical [American] male worker could cover a family of four's major expenditures (housing, healthcare, transportation, education) on 30 weeks of salary. By 2018 it took 53 weeks. "

I dont mind spending a bit extra supporting local if it's convenient to do so and people aren't taking the piss. However, when you have a job Amazon are hard to beat when you remember you need something and hit order now and know it's coming. The food bill is the biggest local shop but even then it is predominantly Sainsburys and M&S rather than locally owned shops. Coffees and my £6.50 sourdough loaf ( :o ) are independent locals. The barber isn't going to retire early with me as a customer  ;D
