One of five people killed in a vehicle that crashed head-on into a police car near Middlesbrough had filmed himself driving recklessly.

Jakub Matusiak, 23, shared a video on social media in May that appeared to show him driving a Volvo at speed, veering off the road and accelerating across a park.

He died in the early hours of Saturday morning alongside four others in the same vehicle. They have been named as Michael Cahill, 23, 17-year-old Theo Rae, Cole Worthy, 16, and 18-year-old Makai Saddington.

Maybe I'm  not technologically savvy here, but surely there's a way of identifying someone from  such a video?  Arrest them before they  do such carnage. No?

Seems easy enough  for police in certain cases,  to turn up at a front  door to  arrest someone for  a tweet about transgenders, or daring  to criticise Israel , but not this .

Was thinking about this. If there was a new street drug for example that had killed 12 people in the UK and Ireland in the space of a week, with a risk of more deaths to come, there would be COBRA meetings, emergency response teams etc.
