Did McKernan not score a good point (or was it 2 pointer) on saturday? I don't think you could expect Keith Evans to turn the way he did and block it - I dunno how he didn't dislocate his knee or something the shape he went into.

A shame McCurry didnt get lined up

McKernan well able to hit them unreal block but yeah if he wasn't going for a 2 pointer he could have taken it past Evans

DaleCooper

Hes been hit and miss but every chance he would have nailed it...

Kerry won 20 long kickouts. Tyrone 11.

Quote from: Duine Eile on June 29, 2026, 02:32:22 PMThat was a disaster, so many wrong decisions, from players, management and the referee. Can't understand taking off Molloy, he was having one of his best games in a long time and to replace him with Mulkerrin was a terrible decision. Gleeson is getting an awful lot of stick but in his defence, where were all Galway's big men? Tierney was anonymous, Conroy faded badly, when Darcy made himself available and looked for the ball he caught it, our ability to win breaking ball in those situations is terrible, it's not all on Gleeson.

Been very critical of Molloy this year but he had his best game in 5 years.

Gleeson not good enough but that's on the manager who picks as is the lack of movement/structure in front of Gleeson. Short one was on several times in first half and he just continued to go long.

1-21 is a good return from the amount of primary possession they won, think it was 12 kickouts more the Dubs won.

Joyce has indicated he'll stay which has surprised me, if he does a new coach along with a new keeper is a must.

Galway needs to hit reset and refresh

Quote from: Killala on June 28, 2026, 10:05:25 PMI realise I'm foolish going up against a solicitor but I'll give it a go. 😂. I can't see any result in the current All Ireland series where Dublin beat Louth by ten points. It may happen in the final but my crystal balls a bit cloudy.

Not sure who the solicitor is but in case you are referring to me (I am not a solicitor) I think the answer to the question whether they are completely separate competitions is answered by 6.12 of the official guide:

The Championships shall be organised as follows: INTER-COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS
(A) All-Ireland Senior Football Championship:
(i) Provincial Championships These Championships shall be played on a Knockout Format. Group or 'RoundRobin' Formats may not be used.
(ii) Tier 1 (Sam Maguire Cup)

So the Provincial Championship and Sam Maguire Cup as they call it make up the All Ireland Senior Football Championship.

So on a technical level Dublin have beaten Louth in the All Ireland Senior Football Championship this year but not in the Sam Maguire Cup as the rules call it
Apologies David, that was an assumption on my part. I had asked a legal question on the Dup thread directly to yourself. You had answered it and quite a few others. The tone of the other posts had led me to believe you were a solicitor. I will rephrase the original controversial post. Would it be fair to say of the sixteen teams entered in the Sam Maguire Cup Louth are the only side still unbeaten.

15 vs 15 Louth would have won by 20 points.

You can talk about refs etc - that block won Kerry the game. That goes over Tyrone win it

Amazing. I'd either pop a knee out or slip on my hole if I tried to turn like that or possibly both!

Also another point don't know if it was mentioned but McCurry and conn had a long enough conversation over the last free I thought they would have kicked it back outside arc and went for 2.

I imagine the conversation was kick it outside the arc and get the 2 I'll catch the kick out win a free and Morgan will kick us into SF without extra time and it will be a great day for edendork!

The way things where goin at midfield I think it was mad to think we could kick a one and still have another chance in 1 minute.

Reminds of Conor Gormley's block on Stephen McDonald at the end of the 2003 All Ireland final. Unreal stuff

DaleCooper

McKernan was rash and trying to keep outside the arc. McElholm passed to him and maybe didnt have space to have a go himself.

Louth appeal the red or can they?

It's better than Gormley's block I'd say.
