Yeah and the world is head over heels in love with VAR, isn't it?

Do you want Hydration Breaks (perhaps they could be sponsored by Club Energize?) as well?

The clue is in the word - ADVANTAGE
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Not sure how it was more advantageous for Galway to be awarded a 2 point free rather than a penalty, or why he didn't let them at least get a shot off for a goal before taking it back. Although how Walsh is allowed hit left footed frees over Finnerty is mad.

I get Kerry are very very good given they are the champions and all but I hear a lot of people thinking its theirs to lose now. That seems a bit simple after what we have seen from the Dubs that last 2 weeks who have really found their stride now.

Also Louth are surely a very dangerous opponent for any of the 3 sides left, I did not think it would be possible in the modern game to go down a man and win a match, especially for the length of time they had to cope with it. Monaghan may not be a Kerry or a Galway but are a decent team so to come out on top was pretty extraordinary.

I don't know the stats but wondering when was the last time a team with 14 for a significant period of time won a match?
Its not like back in the day when say the Meath team of lates 80s early 90s when going down a man almost suited them, in this day and age it's like a yellow card in Rugby where teams most often or not score a try in that period when they have a numerical advantage. It feels crazy that Louth pulled it out of the fire and will be a huge shot in the arm of that squad who will be on cloud 9 preparing for that May game.

Quote from: From the Bunker on June 28, 2026, 08:12:45 PMAs a neutral - I didn't want either Dublin or Galway to win. But at a push - I wanted Galway to lose.

With that in mind - how in the F*ck did David Gough get a Dublin game?
The lad lives and works in Dublin. He gave all the tight calls to Dublin.
There is no doubt about that.

Loving the rage baiting you have for Dublin. Gough lives in Slane and works in school in Inchicore, an area which would have no GAA tradition.

We have all seen pictures of David Gough standing beside Dublin players at his school on visits with the Sam Maguire. It's a compromising position refereeing a Dublin match.
There will always be subliminal decisions. I was as close to Neutral as I have ever been watching yesterday's game. Gough definitely gave Dublin the run of Green.

Whether he did or not, there is simply no need for the GAA to appoint him to Dublin games and have people suggesting that he might be biased.

He's a posey p***k who wants to be the centre of attention at all times.

Couple of cracking games yesterday.

Fair play to Dublin and especially Louth on getting over the line when both seemed improbable at stages.  The Leinster championship looking in good health for the next few years which is great to see after years of facile Dublin victories.

Ref said it wasn't a penalty and Maher wasn't able to get a shot away.

Look Up is correct. Prior to January 2025 if a second foul was committed we'd go back to the first regardless. The change was proposed by the FRC in Nov 24. It was made permanent in 2026.

Was at the games
Jeez Monaghan missed Beggan , he plays they win 99 times out of 100.
Fair play to Louth though they stuck in
Got lucky with keepers in last two games and I fancy them to do a job on Mayo
Second game though Galway were cruising after their goal and then simply crashed .
Would see a few of their veterans stepping back .

After the Cork Mayo games I was worried about the quality of the quarter-finals. Probably a bit of blessing that was on GAA+ to be honest; a shame that the Kerry v Tyrone game wasn't available to the more casual GAA watcher.
Luckily the other 3 games were thrillers and decent watches for the neutral casual GAA fan.
Semis should be good too with Dublin v Kerry and Louth v Mayo.

Louth really got lucky going from Beggan in goals to a 19 year old making his intercounty debut. There was a fairly stark difference in the overall quality of the kickouts which was made worse by Louth's big men around the middle. They also missed him as a scoring threat. Saw he scored 0-21 in the championship this year before yesterday.

Can see a lot of the older lads in Galway packing it in - they've a fair few over 30 at this stage ; especially as Joyce seemed stubborn about staying on in his post-match comments. Conroy, Comer, Walsh, Gleeson, Silke, and Molloy are all over the 30 mark and I'm could be missing more. Whatever about the penalty, Galway were 6 points up and let Dublin score 3 points in a row before the penalty to narrow the gap.

Most of monaghan's kickouts were 50-50. Still - that Louth CHB was some operator under them.

I would fancy Louth to beat Mayo but that is a great draw for both of them.

The GAA had a referee doing a game last week in which his clubman was playing. They don't seem to put any thought into it.
