Sam McBrides reporting of this since yesterday would suggest he'd no time for the man and also alluded to the fact that some of the evidence presented was so graphic they couldn't report it:

The Claims: Donaldson expensed around £600 for over 30 pay-per-view films during hotel stays (such as Jolly Hotel St Ermine and the Hilton) in London.

The Response: Donaldson denied the films were adult in nature. His solicitor stated he used the pay-TV services to watch films like Star Wars and The Chronicles of Narnia to relax after long workdays.

The Resolution: Facing intense public and political backlash, Donaldson repaid £555 to cover the disputed film claims.

I had thought he spent the long, lonely nights alone in his hotel room in London reading his free copy of his Gideon bible.

What I found interesting was that all these articles were released as soon as the verdict came in. So they had been prepared in advance. Wonder do they have one prepared incase of a not guilty verdict.

It seems journalists were allowed to sit in on proceedings so if they were listening to this type of evidence being given they would have been much surer of the outcomings of the jury.

You can never be sure with jurys but they already would have been working on the story and have it ready to go once the jury came back with their verdicts.

The bits I heard on the BBC Sounds podcasts weren't good so lord knows what isn't in the public domain.

It's probably better not to know. I see a lot of talk about prosecuting people for speculating about who the victims are. It is also better not to know who they are (unless they want to be known).

Would have had both prepared I'm sure, just to cover themselves.

Reading through Sam's tweets would just make you even more angry at how the defence was just to call them victims liars. As David mentioned in the thread few pages back, direction of defence comes from the client just goes to show what a piece of shit Donaldson truly is. Will rot in hell

I see that Jeffrey's brother in law had also been convicted of a child related offence.
The PSNI might well be investigating other people around Kilkeel,

Of course they do. Basic journalism. Look how quick obituaries are ready.

Or if not guilty, would he have went back into the DUP again? As if nothing had happened?

Absolutely, he would have been welcomed back with open arms, I daresay.

After all, the DUP has always been well-known for sticking by its core founding principles, including forgiveness, tolerance, inclusivity, love & respect.

If the world was only formed around 4,000 BC, then anything is possible, in the DUP's universe.

I was surprised at the speedy DUP announcement after the guilty verdict. It was  as if they were pre-empting any  potential questions about: were you aware of any rumours/allegations over the years? Oh no,  not a thing

Also, it's a case of  distancing themselves from Jeffrey . Hes  a wrong un, we're all good living Christian folk. Circle the wagons,   thinking ahead to the next election and hanging onto their seats  and big paycheque. Ultimately, that's what it's all about

I would find it very hard to believe nobody around the  DUP didn't hear any Jeffrey  rumours over the years

Yeah wouldn't really expect anything else there. To be fair there is a big difference in hearing rumours and hearing something credible that could be acted upon.
