Did they stick by Davy Tweed?

Jim Allister is showing his true colours here and did on Tweed. He's an odious odious man. NI Protocol needs redone he says. Horrendous human being.

Quote from: AustinPowers on June 23, 2026, 12:26:30 PMI was surprised at the speedy DUP announcement after the guilty verdict. It was  as if they were pre-empting any  potential questions about: were you aware of any rumours/allegations over the years? Oh no,  not a thing

Also, it's a case of  distancing themselves from Jeffrey . Hes  a wrong un, we're all good living Christian folk. Circle the wagons,   thinking ahead to the next election and hanging onto their seats  and big paycheque. Ultimately, that's what it's all about

I would find it very hard to believe nobody around the  DUP didn't hear any Jeffrey  rumours over the years

There was a certain level of hypocrisy in the DUP statement from Robinson too, he said something around the lines of nobody being above the law, no matter how long ago things happened.
British forces? Legacy anyone?

I see the Bel Tel were reporting yesterday that it was a majority verdict whilst others have reported it was unanimous. Not that it matters much but I find that interesting

Is there more cases coming forward with Jeffrey? Sam McBride hinted at it on Nolan show this morning

He is, but like it or not there is a conversation to be had about whether or not he was compromised.

Is there?
I would imagine if he was compromised he'd have blown that wide open to save himself during the case.
I think it's another case of Jim trying to put the cat among the pigeons without actually having proof of anything.

What does the majority need to be for a guilty verdict? Is 7-5 good enough?

If Allister thinks that - a Unionist trait that that the British establishment is always out to screw them - it doesn't exactly sell the Precious Union that Jeffrey's bosom buddy Arlene Foster always spoke about. And where is Arlene? She usually has a lot to say.

Nope,  majority verdict is 10-2 where there is a full jury. All the reports I have seen are that it was a unanimous verdict

Mr Acheson also said the NI Prison service faces an "exceptional challenge" to manage Donaldson's safety.
"Even in a sex offender prison or within sex offenders, there are always a hierarchy. And someone who has sexually harmed children tends to sit at the very lowest end of that scale and is highly vulnerable," he said.
"I would suggest in the medium to long term, that the safest option for him - and I'm not sure how this would work - was to request transfer to a prison in GB and to serve his sentence where he is a much smaller fish in a much bigger pond."

Very early on in this someone said to me I wouldn't be surprised if he killed himself and I still wouldn't be surprised at that.

Does the wife have to be locked up in an "institution"? I was surprised to hear she was at home.

Seeing his new living situation described on the BBC you can see why especially coming from the privileged position he does
