Mulroy kicked at 70.00 on the TV clock and a couple of seconds before Rafferty touched it, which is clearly off the line. Game was over in theory.

Tv clock was wrong I believe. There was 8/9 seconds left on stadium clock when he kicked it

In this day and age of electronics then they need to link the TV to the stadium clock and not have the possibility of a difference.

Or do the sensible thing and  scrap it

There are times  in games where the clock is stopped, and  the play could be 10 seconds old again before the clock is started  again.  Then in case of an injury , the clock could roll on for  20 seconds before   it's stopped.

All those lost seconds are crucial now , and  in the end could  decide a game..

Could not agree more, it's been a constant bug bear - there's this perception that it provides total accuracy and transparency, and true it does provide transparency for injury time (except in stadia where there is no clock, in which case it should not have been in use), but apart from the last minute the system is pretty arbitrary. I watched a good portion of three games over the weekend and there were any amount of times that the clock and ref weren't in sync, there's also the totally arbitrary decision by the ref to stop the clock sometimes and not on other seemingly identical occasions. Not to mention the gap from when the ref asks for the clock to be stopped and it actually happening.
It's absolutely time to bin the stupid experiment which is better suited to indoor or play based sports like we have in the US. We had a superb club championship where refs managed the time with discretion and very little controversy. Time to swallow the pride and the sunk costs invested in this experiment and move on.
If they insist on retaining it, they have to revert to last year's system.

100% agree. The hooter is the biggest white elephant in GAA history. Completely unnecessary, unreliable and a massive waste of money. I really don't see the need for it at all, especially considering how well the club championships went this year. It only adds to cynicism, time wasting and keep ball tactics in the last few minutes of games.

I was watching Ciaran Mackin in the warmup.  Surely he's an option in there.  He's a horse of a lad and some leap on him.

hasnt played a whole pile this year so would be a risk but maybe one worth taking. Geezer said Hughes was just a nick so hopefully back

Think he was half rush back from a cruciate and got hurt again so must be being cautious this time he is some loss. Played no football since early 2024 though.

Logistics of a 6 day turnaround after Inniskeen far from ideal.  Although, if you're gonna get Kerry, best to get them earlier than later.  Fitzgerald Stadium should be a spectacle, pressure on Kerry after their last outing there v Donegal.

I did read in the Irish News that Armagh actually opened the AG to Derry for training(after they had lost to Monaghan).

Its the perfect time for Armagh to get Kerry. Whether they are good enough remains to be seen. Had Kerry got a relatively easy draw and more gametime for those who need it, they would only be more difficult to beat further down the line.

Typical Gavin Devlin performance. Louth were good in the tackle and dispossessed Armagh with accurate hand to ball tackling. That's probably their ceiling but some scalp.

I still think Armagh are the team to beat, unless that's the start of Kerry timing it right. Probably best for Armagh to get Kerry now.

I don't know which games people are watching, but I haven't seen anything from Armagh this year to suggest they are the team to beat. Couldn't put Louth away on Sunday and paid the price. Not the first time this year they haven't converted scores when they were on. As for decision making it has been poor at times throughout the year.
