Ah they're definitely up there. Tipping away nicely in the background with most people tipping Donegal to win it and Kerry with a good chance fitness dependent

Why not Louth in Parnell PK or even Croke PK?

Didn't Louth play a home game against Wexford in Carlow in the quarter final of the Leinster championship?
Wouldn't be surprised to see it played in Offaly or Portlaoise, I can't see Louth agreeing to anywhere that's convenient for Armagh (Clones or Newry), nor should they.

They have done so in the past. Their game this year against Wexford was in Carlow though.

Will the times and venues be announced today?

Would have thought would done this yesterday afternoon, given that a day was lost due to the bank holiday on Monday.

Bit of back and forward with Louth and the GAA, apparently Louth want Inniskeen, GAA were looking Croker.

I expect that Louth playing in Carlow reflected the wishes of the Leinster council rather than Louth being free to pick wherever they liked.

Tullamore or Portlaoise are equally inconvenient for Louth people.
Good old Carrick-on-Shannon could be an option as it is in a different province altogether.

With Comer being available again too they are getting stronger. Many had them as favourites the year Armagh won, and without the injuries they would likely have went on to win it. They seem stronger now than for that final so I wouldn't bet against them.

If Dublin where drew at home then there could have been an argument for Croker as part of a double header not for a standalone game maybe get 20,000 at a push.  Louth are just right to dig heels in.

It isn't an either/or. The game could be played in Cavan or Newry.
Digging your heels in to prevent GAA people attending GAA games is in no way a virtue.

They should have thought about this before now. There was always a chance that this would arise and there was also a chance that Monaghan could have played Louth which would have drawn a big crowd also.

Don't see the value in bringing Louth and Armagh fans to Croke Park when it will be at most a quarter full and in a dead atmosphere.

Louth have been drawn at home and precedent is set they should be allowed to select the venue.  Armagh players would have as much experience of playing in Newry down the years, while it is probably the most suitable venue logistically it probably doesn't suit Louth to play there.

Yeah a double header if Meath or Dublin had been drawn at home would probably have been ideal but don't think you'd any more than 30k for just the one game. Newry or Clones handiest obviously but Armagh have played in both plenty over the years so Louth likely want a smaller venue.
