McKinless was nowhere near him many times if he was supposed to be picking him up.

I was at it yesterday McKinless picked up Mulroy in the 2nd half and even with his old tricks and array of dark arts he couldn't get near him  tbf it's been the only game McKinless has come out second best this year. Ardee a unique venue deceptive breeze but 4 points in one half won't win too many matches. Probably a worse performance than against Meath, it was a Strange game as we had plenty of possession and done ok with the kickouts just simply had no answers against a very organised Louth defence.

McKinless along with Loughlin were our two best players by some distance imo. They were the 2 that continually tried to get the team over the line when most around them were flat for some reason...no one man was on Mulroy, seemed to be whoever was closest . If Devlin sends players out to rough McKinless up, he is well within his rights not to take it. I was standing with a couple of Shamrocks folks and they were keeping a v close eye

They were very flat.. looked like a squad that spent the last two weeks doing a block of running. Anyone in the vicinity of Luke Barrett could hear him shouting "Pressure" every 3 seconds but it just  wasn't happening.

Derry just didn't do enough in first half. They look very flat and Louth were well up for it.

Derry could have played until today and wouldn't hsve won. Should have been prepared for war in Ardee but clearly weren't for whatwver reason. Some people on another thread I think, thought Mulroy wasn't a top forward. He run the show yesterday. Floated in and out of game but always made an impact.

Dery weren't as good as they were V Cork and conversely, aren't as bad as they showed yesterday. They'll be disapointed to lose their winning run yesterday but the were well beaten.

He didn't with the old rules but has been in games so far in the league. For the most part has done fairly well too.

Tyrone gave Meath a fair rattle so I'm hopeful they'll get something there, although I think with Brennan leaving and Morgan not starting there's something going on there.

I thought Mc Kinless was good defender, improved at man marking but that we pop tackle in behind the elbow, himself and Niall Loughlin are as good as we have at that.

Its only a blip, Derry were two gears back from were they were against Offaly and Cork and still would have won the game had Mc Guigan scored that penalty. There keeper had a good day when on normal day we would have had 2/3 goals.

Louth have a system that works for them and they are on crest of a wave but its a tough watch, we know all about it. Don't tackle more than 5 yards outside the 2 point arch, slow attacks. That works in Ardee.

The performance against Louth was seriously poor. Our main players like Rodgers, Glass, McGuigan all below par, its like the easy games against Cork & Offaly left us soft. It was similar in style to the Meath game, passing the ball around the arc but no one really taking men on, no genuine direct hard running on a consistent bases.

Them men always get the blame, when the other players ever gonna step up and not hide behind them 3. Only N Loughlin was at the races. Long overdue other players take responsibility.  3 things turned the game. Glass made a mistake not to take the high ball clean. Management didnt do their homework on Mulroy, and the penalty was a bad miss. All that on a overall poor team performance. That pitch dead tight, tighter than Celtic park, had that game been at home i think we won handy enough.

Was a very flat laboured performance. It was such a dip from our previous games you'd nearly think it was a game they didn't want to win. Otherwise it's worrying how our form can drop away so badly. Be tough to get promotion now especially as it is out of our hands. Division 2 next year is going to be as tough as it has ever been and there are no guarantees we'll get out of it next year if the cards don't fall our way this weekend.

Actually I don't think playing in Div. 2 is a big issue next year, if it pans out like that.

Good preparation in Div. 2 - good solid teams in it who can beat each other. Apart from Offaly obviously. But when you see a lot of decisions on who goes up and down coming down to the last game, over a few matches, then that's good.

I think the league is a really good competition.
