Or was it Deep Impact?
Deep Impact. Surely you have seen The Godfather(s) or Apocalypse Now?

Nope. No real desire  to either.

Great film

Falling down. One of the Jack Reacher films.

Fantastic actor.

As an aside one film I detest, almost more than any, is Apocalypse now.

Overhyped for me too. Some good scenes of course but mostly tripe.

Watched it years ago and thought it was dung.

Do you lads not like the smell of napalm in the morning?

I do watch it if it's on but I'd set it behind Platoon and Full Metal Jacket in my list of Vietnam war movies. I enjoy most of Apocalypse Now but I don't like the Marlon Brando scenes in it. I read Heart of Darkness many years ago so I can see where they were going with the Kurtz character but I just didn't like those scenes.

Watched the Charlie Sheen doc recently and he got into the period of when his dad made that film and the effect it had on everyone. Mad stuff
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Best war film of all time by a long stretch, it's Coppola's masterpiece.

Celebrities die all the time but there are the odd ones that sit with you - Robert Duvall was one such for me. John Prine before that. Loved watching anything he was in - and you just always I guess kinda believed him. Amazing actor that had a long innings.

Godfather
Open Range
More recently enjoyed The Judge

Would have been my favourite of his work

Prine loss was a real kick in the nads.

Duvalls latter years as a likeable Everyman character with a sideways perspective suited him to a tee, it also meant even in a number of bang average films you always liked his character.

Captain Obvious

Robert Duvall a great actor and a fine age he lived to.

Tom Noonan, the distinctive character actor, playwright and filmmaker best known as a movie villain died the other day aged 74.
