I do watch it if it's on but I'd set it behind Platoon and Full Metal Jacket in my list of Vietnam war movies. I enjoy most of Apocalypse Now but I don't like the Marlon Brando scenes in it. I read Heart of Darkness many years ago so I can see where they were going with the Kurtz character but I just didn't like those scenes.

Watched the Charlie Sheen doc recently and he got into the period of when his dad made that film and the effect it had on everyone. Mad stuff
Didn't Martin Sheen legit have a heart attack in the hotel room scene and Coppola said keep rolling.

Weren't they given all sorts of  drugs during that film?  I thought that's what brought on Sheen's heart attack?

One of my favourite shows when growing up. Have been afraid to return to it as not sure how well it would have aged. But an absolute classic for me.

It was a gem alright, Rimmer probably my favourite comedy character.  I look at clips or episodes now and then on youtube.  In a sense you could say it hasn't aged well, but that's the beauty of shows like that- it's nice to step back to that time and mindset rather than try to carry it forward.  Now and then, I make up random Space Core Directives in class or conversations- very, very few ever get them, but I'm well past the confusion or the funny looks or the riiiights!!

Sad news. It was a great  show. The earlier  series look really old now , although it did start in 1988. Still very watchable though.

The later series on Dave  was good, but the Starbug years were  the best for me.

But first,  a staged pull down  of his statue and a  man off his tits hitting  it with a  flip flop.
