Key point there is "aspiring to be".

Also as United fan he is never going to be the quality that is required at the very top end where the club should be aspiring to be.

I get is as an Irish fan but there are levels to this.
It's never gonna happen but I do think he'd be alright on loan to the end of the season- they've one senior striker at the club who's in the very earlier stages of his career.

Looking at it without either Irish or United glasses on you'd say Parrott could go to a decent mid level premier league team and do fairly well or what would probably be more beneficial would be to go to a higher standard european team than where he currently is, he's probably good enough to go to a higher level than AZ

They should have detailed scouting domestically and in Europe, been some seriously bad judgement calls over the years, you have to question who is considered the arbiter of good taste in relation to talent ID and recruitment because its been shocking

In the past Utd would have cherry picked the best of Villa Spurs Everton even Arsenal, they need Anderson from Forest, problem is they should have had him from Newcastle, bad miss, they're 4 or 5 players away from doing anything

In fairness you'd have to say recruitment has improved this last couple of years, probably the best signings since Ferguson bar Bruno- either young with plenty of potential like Heaven, Dorgu etc or premier league proven and coming into their prine like Cunha and Mbuemo- most importantly none are on daft money which will make it easier to get rid of them if they dont work out.

Are City not being heavily linked with Anderson? Should definitely be going for him

Improved yes. But would any bar Bruno get near any of Fergusons title winning teams.

Armagh18

Not too many players in the league at the minute would get near Fergies best teams so not much point judging against that standard. But they're building from a low base- they've hopefully learned that massive contracts for mercenaries like Pogba and Di Maria don't work.

Agreed, the last man to beat Real Madrid in a European final, that team is untouchable, Fergie's apex mountain

A Harry Maguire miss into an open net from 6 inches and Dalot very lucky to escape red in the first ten mins.

On which note, I came across this in the Guardian yesterday, interviewing some season ticket holders.

QuoteRedman says: "We have to look at this season – as shambolic as it is by traditional United standards – as slow progress in terms of the league. Some of the embarrassing defeats we've suffered have at least been through fine margins, or referees implementing the rules differently against us. Those are excuses we shouldn't be making, and it's depressing that we've seen off yet another manager."

Armagh18

Lucky to escape a red, f**k me barely grazes him. Straight red cards for simulation would fair sort out the absolute tripe soccer has become to watch.

Blowitupref

Dorgu, Maguire wasted big opportunities to score, you won't see City as wasteful if and when they create a big chance.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Armagh18

I take that back, should have sent Dalot off it would greatly increase United chances without that clown.
