It is important to avenge '73! Not conceding 5 goal would be a start. Was reading about that Cork team, scored 5 vs Kerry, 5 vs Tyrone and 3 vs Galway in the final, with a 19yr old JBM to the fore, they must have has one of the most prolific goal records ever?

1973 Tyrone stuffed by Cork, my first visit to Croker. Tissue paper hats & still in the short trousers, with Jimmy Barry Murphy and his George Best locks making us  all cry the whole way home.
revenge is long overdue. As long as they don't  bring Jimmy Barry Murphy this time!

Still got the programme for that one, the Tyrone jerseys in the early 70S were the best we ever saw with white socks with red tops & of course no such thing as red shorts. Bring back the old  70's kit for the semi!

Relief!

First off i'm rather bemused at the comments about Tyrone obstructing frees and cynical tactics. Were you at the same game I was at? Kildare's persistant fouling was far more evident. Can't believe Early wasn't shown a yellow card for taking out Mulligan in the first half when he had him beat in front of the goals. Tyrone do this too but its at least punished with a yellow card.

Mc Geeney's tactics were far more evident in the Kildare players running (very close) in front to distract free takers and fouling players to break down attacks. I won't say Tyrone are entirely innocent, I didn't like Cavanagh knocking the ball out of the Kildare player's hands at the end, but jesus talk about pot calling the kettle black.

As for the boos, they were coming from the canal end (mostly) which was full of children, but I didn't like the cheering and flag waving at Tyrone's wides.

And if you want to start talking about missed chances, what about the 3 scoreable frees Tyrone missed in a row. Tyrone should have won by 5. Gormley was my MOTM, he was all over the forwards and as for "dark tactics" ffs Kildare gave as good as they got. What about Justy being dragged and held down before Ricey got blown for overcarrying. Not to sure about SON for MOTM, he had a poor first half, but you can't really argue with 7 points.

...And finally, no harm, lets hope that's Tommy McGuigan's starting place gone, too many bad performances, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is full of dread everytime he steps up to take a free. Brian' has a great head, and never wastes possession. And what about that catch!

you must have been at the same match as me - couldn't agree more. The booing was disgraceful in the canal end & not from a minority, and certainly not because of unjustified frees. I thought the old Armagh tactics came to haunt Kildare in the second half when mcGeeney instilled a circle the wagons mentality instead of allowing them to push on. I don't think Kildare will improve beyond this in the future with the fear of winning mentality they had in the 2nd half. As for an allstar for Earley , no chance.

I wish Brian McGuigan had got more time on Sunday. If fit and back to anywhere near his best he would be an automatic starter. O'Neill and Mugsy would benefit from his passing. Depending on his form I would pick him ahead of Tommy, maybe the Ardboe posters who have watched them play more feel differently?

I don't think I would have Brian ahead of Tommy at this point.  Tommy has been exceptional for Ardboe this season.  As I posted here on sunday night I though he was harshly called ashore on sunday, he scored 3 points and set up another 3.  Brian has been playing very well of late as well and I also thought he would have got more time on sunday but perhaps Mickey is trying to squeeze that wee bit more out of him, he is going to be vital coming into the business end of things.

I'd completely disagree regarding O'Neill's man marking. I think that's his weak point and that he makes the other defenders more wary of staying back...from what I've seen anyway. Great attacking half back but a little naive. Harte much more aware of his duties if not quite a Conor Gormley.

Not so sure I agree entirely O'Neill.  Having saw Sean O'Neill a few times for Dromore I have got the impression this guy is the real deal, obviously he is extremely strong from an attacking perspective but from what I have saw he is no slouch defensively either.  They have a big word for him round St Mary's as well and he has played full back for them indicating his defensive ability is good as well.  If anything I reckon he could replace Jordan before Harte in the long run.

The Tyrone wing backs are helped immensely by Dooher, Joe and to a lesser extent Hub.  The cover they give to the wing backs is fabulous.

Id have to disagree, Jordan is the heartbeat  of the team. Note the breaks he makes from his own 45 to the opposition 45 turning a 10 v 8 to a 8 v 6, setting up attack after attack. Id love to see the posession stats. Jordan the unrecogonised playmaker in the team.

Saying that O'Neill looks like the perfect replacement with great feet and a dead ball expertise. a real talent.

Question-when was the last time Jordan missed a inter county championship game and can anyone answer what other number has Jordan ever worn?

I reckon Jordan won the #7 shirt from Declan mcCrossan in the last group game of the 2002 NFL v Mayo which was his first start for Tyrone . He played #7 in the subsequent NFL final victory v Cavan.  In the next game, first round of the 2002 ulster championship v Armgh in the drawn game he didnt start (may have been injured?). However he played #7 in the lost replay & has played left half back in every championship game since.

Spent a few months in Latin america recently, & would recommend.

Antigua in Guatelmala  -historic former capital  - great base to see the country

Iguazu falls on the brazil;/paraguay/argentina borders – unbelieveable

Buenos Aires  - Argentina – great city & you could go see a Boca Juniors or River plate match

Not sure why there are posters referring to Armagh as a "very young team". There were only 4 players to start who were under 25. Donaghy, the 2 midfielders and the late replacement #28 according to the programme bio listing.

Or put another way, of the 19 players used yesterday 13 were 26 or under.

Superb AFS.

I wouldn't consider a batch of 25 year olds as young players.
