West Brom let me down at the weekend for 150. Thought they were a very attractive price away to Sheffield Wednesday @evens.

It was QPR they were playing.
Backed QPR because of Warnock's first game

Can't blame the lads for going but it would be awful if Gaelic football were to lose Michael Murphy. It is joy to watch him in action and also Niall McKenna leaping for  ball brings back memories of his sad Eugene doing the same thing. Whatever about Tyrone it would be some loss to Donaghmore after Niall McGinn going to soccer. Hope they are not dragged away.

Such nonsense. FFS no-one is being dragged away to another sport. These lads want to go to play a professional sport so saying players are dragged away is complete sh1te.

Gilroy is entitled to pick who he wants. If he says to players that if they go out for pints this week they wont be selected for a squad then so be it. Similarly if he says chose soccer or gaelic then he is entitled to do this.
He isnt stopping players going to the trial, granted it may not be the best for the county but he is entitled to pick whatever players he wants and exclude players for extra-cirricular activities

Must win on Saturday against Wolves. Hopefully Fergie doesn't take any risks with resting lads, it would be criminal to do so.

Correct, cant take a chance at this stage of the season.

Suprised at Rooney playing for England tonight, especially as he had a 'niggle' after Sunday ;)

Bolt From The Blue

Usain Bolt today hit back at claims that he would not be a worthy recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from Queen's University. Bolt's outburst was in response to ex-Antrim St Gall's GAA star Kevin McGourty's comments that local sport should be recognised above Bolt's international achievement.

Speak from his luxury 9-bedroom apartment in Jamaica, Bolt reacted angrily to McGourty's statement:

"This McGourty, he's the boy who wouldn't tog out for his county because he wasn't getting warm soup after a game? I'll tell you something, I didn't eat for four months one time. 4 months. I watched the Corofin game there on TG4 last Saturday night, or was it Sunday morning here? I can't remember. Anyway, he's had a few meals since then hasn't he. Hehe. Big oul head on him."

The normally mild mannered Bolt then upped the ante by throwing the gauntlet down in front of McGourty:

"Tell this Kevin lad the following: Let's see who is the better sportsman. I'll go toe-to-toe with the Milltown man. Carl Lewis says he'll do goals. One on one, first to five points, no goals."

McGourty refused to comment today on Bolt's challenge, quoting the need to study for his 3rd Masters.

"Listen, I don't have time to be running around the field with a Jamaican especially with exam pressure, establishing Fianna Fail up here, talking to you lads and the Kilmurry game. Do you ever see me doing something stupid like firing imaginary fireballs up to the sky? The man's not right. If Queen's had any gumption at all they'd be awarding it to our CJ or our Kieran or my da. Knock his feckin melt in"

Valencia is starting to prove his worth as well & Rooney keeps his goalscoring streak going.

BTW, from the discussion on the Chelsea thread regarding Berba.
He is still sh1t

Valencia is just starting to prove his worth? more like he's been one of united's star players this Season, hopefully he can prove his worth over many seasons now.

As for Berba, i can understand why some united fan's Willl NEVER take to him with his lazy sytle & huge price tag

but you can't say he hasn't improved over the last few weeks? Berba is not a out & out Striker that will score 30 goals a Season, he's more of a link up man, the best example i can give is yesterday, where he more or less created 7 chances

Berba had a decent game yesterday, nothing more nothing less.
In order to justify his £30 million price tag he would need to have a few performances which are a damn sight better than decent.

Valencia before Xmas is a different player than he is now.
A season is longer than a month or 2

Decent enough game that never reached any great heights.

Vidic was very very lucky that he didnt see red for the penalty. Fergie's crying at that particular ref seemed to work on this occasion.

Good finish by Owen who is wild unlucky with injury.

Valencia is starting to prove his worth as well & Rooney keeps his goalscoring streak going.

The point is that as of yet there has been no increase in prices and even if there was those of us who attend games would not be put off by an increase of a few pounds. It seems the vast majority of posters on this forum are like followers of English soccer teams. They talk plenty, but rarely get to games.

And of course if you dont go to games (regardless of the reason why) you arent a true supporter ::)
