Quote from: Keane on June 19, 2026, 09:25:41 AMI guess since Armagh named 30 that includes their stand-by players so little or no prospect of Hughes?
Late inclusions are possible. Remember Rain O'Neill being named at 6 v Derry on his outa nowhere comeback (1st comeback hopefully!).

Possibly. In recent weeks the journalists seem to be getting the list of stand-by players in advance (which I guess can't be changed once submitted) so maybe we'll get clarity before the match.
Magill wasn't named at all for the Louth game and wore number 1, so it must be allowed. Could see Blaine with 16 but unlikely.

Rian that time may have been on the 30 which wasn't released back then just 26
No, he wore N6, replacing someone.
Ah you're right, Forker I think it was. So not impossible that we see Blaine.

As much as we'd love Rian Soupy and Grimley to bounce back in I can't see it lol

Anyone upload the Kildare Kerry game or where it can be seen in full?

Armagh will win this game.

This is shit or bust for them and with the backs to the wall they will react well and get the result.
Theyve been crying out to get a game with a top 4 team and this is the chance to prove last weekend was a blip.
Most games theyve been the favourites and it doesnt do them any good. Now theyll relish being the underdogs again and having the 'world is against us' mentality drilled into them for the last 6 days.

Kerry 1-18 Armagh 2-17

That might work if somehow we convince Kerry that they're going to get a second chance. Yes.... now... how do we do that?

Louth,Tyrone,Galway will be keeping their fingers and toes crossed to avoid Kerry. And lucky for Cork they can only be paired with Meath/Mayo or Westmeath/Monaghan should Donegal beat Dublin as expected.

Cork game might be confirmed by Sunday night if the right results happen.

Already played Kerry in Munster final
Played Meath in All Ireland Round 1
Played Donegal in All Ireland Round 2

If Kerry, Meath & Donegal win then Cork v Westmeath / Monaghan is confirmed.

They'll take that, and Tyrone will take the winners of that tie after disposing of Meath. A nightmare scenario for the country

By the sounds of it, many of the Westmeath team will be traveling to Clones in ambulances, on day release from the intensive ward, others will be swinging in the gates on crutches, removing their casts in the dressing room. It's now up to 1,200 minutes of championship football having been played, not sure if that includes the 5 or 6 extra time periods or not.

Any advice for Sunday for my first trip to Clones for parking. Driving up from Dublin. Don't mind walking a good few kms.

I think this game qualifies for being labelled a 'Big Match Day' in Clones, mainly due to the predicted arrival of the Westmeath supporter horde. Here is the link to the official info about big match day parking.

From Westmeath, consider travelling from Cavan via Ballyhaise, which brings you into Clones on the R212. The ABP factory often have parking run by some charity or other and this is useful, if you are not in an absolute hurry away at the end.

Quote from: illdecide on June 19, 2026, 09:12:01 AMYeah going down myself but when i sit here looking at both teams side by side that Kerry front 6 is just mad and if they're fit and click Armagh will be in a spot of bother. I think if we're still in it with 15mins to go then we have a chance but I fear we could get torn apart down in Killarney and I'm really fearful of this game tbh. The only thing in Armagh's favour is the underdog tag and we certainly love being written off, the big factor for me (someone mentioned above) is if Kerry push up hard on Armagh and force the keeper to kick it long then we're in serious trouble beacuse that's our weakest point (middle of the field, with no big men there to compete). If Kerry allow us to take short kickouts then they're not wise...
Yes.  For all the hype around the Kerry injuries they are getting their big players back as we are losing ours.  We said it at the time but Crealey leaves a massive gap in our team when we're going up against the big guns.  Kerry will be very aggressive on our kickouts, if we can retain 35/40% of them then we have a great chance but I think every Armagh fan is really worried about this.  Rafferty has to have a Tyrone 24 Ulster semifinal match and JOB and Murnin have to deliver big time.

One thing I noticed in the reports about the Kerry Kildare game was that they got 4 two pointers with 4 different scorers - O'Beaglaoich, Joe O'Connor, Dylan Geaney and Paudie Clifford.

A lot of teams seem very reliant on a couple of lads for their 2 point shooting threat but if a team is having to worry about a whole chunk of the other team being 2 pointer scoring threats it makes defending against them so much harder.

Beforehand that game if you'd told Kildare that none of David Clifford, Paul Geaney, Killian Spillane or Tony Brosnan would score a 2 pointer against them (with Seanie O'Shea and Tom O'Sullivan not in the match-day panel) they'd probably have been delighted.

I'd love to see a detailed breakdown on the stats in terms of who in teams are taking on 2 pointer shots and who is scoring them. Longer-term I think county teams are going to put more value on players who can score 2 pointers.

Kerry was reliant on two players last year for two pointers, a case they have worked on that now or it said more about Kildare?

Kerry in the championship last year
scored 29 two pointers

David Clifford 14 (12tp, 2tpf)
Sean O'Shea 12 (7tpf, 5tp)

3 from other players
Tony Brosnan (1tp)
Shane Ryan  (1tpf)
Tom O'Sullivan (1tp)

While Kildare were fairly poor from everything I heard, the fact that 4 different Kerry players (none of whom scored a 2 pointer in last year's championship ) all scored, would have me thinking this was something that Kerry have worked on. Analysis teams probably looked at last year's championship stats during the winter and probably saw how the 2 lads got the overwhelming bulk of Kerry's 2 pointers and were probably looking at how to focus on stopping them (probably through increased cover on both of them when they are around the arc)

Kerry analysis team probably looked at the stats and figured that teams would be short odds to focus on stopping those two which would surely open up opportunities for other players to get better quality 2 point shooting opportunities.

Armagh18

Was there a wind in Newbridge? Even your average club player will stroke 2 pointers for fun with a bit of a wind behind him, especially if he's given time and space that you'd imagine Kerry got the last day.

Most of Kerry's players well capable of hitting them so vital we're not letting them get shots away under no pressure like O'Shea got last year, Clifford a different beast. Obviously the trick is balancing that with not giving them space for goals in behind.

Aaron Boone

Hard to believe Armagh could be out by Saturday teatime after two losses. Just the previous Saturday they were sitting so pretty. Incredible really.

Ye of little faith.

Sean O Shea is a big leader on that Kerry team as is Gavin White. Neither may play much of a role.

Armagh to go goal crazy and scrape through by the minimum.

Ethan Rafferty to hit the winner, 2 ptr from play after emptying Joe O Connor.
