And then there were 2! Stevie Donnelly went out battling as did rooster to better opponents just. Donnellys got to be very proud of his achievements t.hus far at the olympics rooster will be much stronger come Tokyo where I'll guess he will be boxing at 56kg. Donnelly too if he hangs about.

Can't see anything in conlons division so far in the competition to cause him any harm haven't seen the Cuban or the American yet tho

The first week was a clusterfuck for the boxers. First round defeats and everything . Would it have been any different with Billy Walsh around? Are they not good enough or is it something else?

I presume you're on the wind up!
In reality Ireland's "success" or lack of it has to be put into context. Apart from the fact that we have a population of 6.5 million compared to UK population of 65m, and world population 7500m, different countries have different resources.
An Irish sportsperson getting to top 10 or indeed top 100 in an Olympic sport is noteworthy . The arbitrary decision to reward only top 3 in any sport doesn't mean that they "have been shit" if they don't get a medal. Irish Athletes at the top level will focus on "being the best they can be" and if on the rare occasions their PB is good enough to earn a medal then it's a massive achievement on a world scale. We regularly are top end performers in rowing, sailing, running , equestrian , and particularly boxing.
Many of our best sports people Are in GAA, racing , rugby , motorsports , none of which are Olympic sports. We have 2 recent world number 1s in frampton and mcilroy who are not in Rio . In fact , Golf is a sport in which we are world leaders but none of our top men are in Rio( & I respect the reasons for this) .
Other countries can effectively throw money in to minority sports and put themselves in a position to win medals eg millions ploughed in to Cycling in the UK( & fair play to them).
Ireland on a fraction of the resources of other countries above them in the Olympic medals table have enjoyed some incredible successes over the years in & out of Olympic competition . To describe the performance of any Olympian as "shit" is comical , as an Olympian by definition have proven themselves as exceptional to even get on the plane to Rio!
