These inter county competitions delaying club football is a joke.

Minor and U20 should be straight knock out - none of this group stage bullshit.

Up until 2023, the 20/21's was always straight knock out - why did it change?
And the GAA complain about burn out - sure they cause it with all these needless games. Tyrone hammered a few teams in the group stages - why are these pointless games needed.

Real players and teams stand up in straight KO competitions - that is by far the best format - always has been over the years and always should be.

I honestly think that's why the crowds are poor at these games - drags on too long, too many games and the club suffers - everybody loses interest

U20 championship should last 6/7 weeks from start to finish then get the club football started.....

That's where it all happens for 97% of the players

To be fair all other counties are playing away. It's just Tyrone that grind their leagues to a halt.

It has to have some effect on the normal club player, they have been in gyms since December and on the pitches from January. I know the modern day manager/game has to take accountability for that but when one team is at it the rest will follow suit. The uncertainty and prolonging of league starts from talking to a few players seems to be impacting their motivation. Hard thing to get right, other counties may be playing away and not at a stand still but on the other hand there are no leagues that come close to Tyrone's for competitiveness and entertainment. Finding the balance is the hard part.

How many other counties take their club leagues as serious as Tyrone? The league in Tyrone literally decides who will play either senior, intermediate or junior the following year. So therefore many clubs would be disadvantaged playing without their u20 county players.

If the u20s were knocked out of the championship early then the Tyrone league would have started weeks ago just like other counties.

I was a neutral spectator at last nights derby match between Drumquin & Aghayarn, the game itself was a hard hitting end to end game which was great to watch. But I can't help feel that the best team was robbed by some shocking refereeing. When you award a 45 and then change it to a 3 up breach it can't be fair, this ultimately ended up as a 2 point score to level the game. And also the ball was clearly left by the Drumquin corner back, I was standing directly behind that goal and it was a wide ball all day long.

Overall if Drumquin had of won this game by 7/8 points I don't think anyone could have had any hard feelings however Aghayarn with there experience in intermediate football kept a hold of the game and ultimately gained a point. Drumquin will see it as an opportunity missed given the situation they found themselves (4 points up going into injury time) & the fact Aghayarn were missing some key players. But what I would say is one of the better referees in Tyrone (sparky) definitely cost the tones a point.

Wasn't at the game but I was told that it wasn't a 3 up breach but a 21 yard free was awarded due to Drumquins reaction to the award of a 45, from what I was told the Aghyaran umpire was assaulted.

Another day another awful decision, Rock Robbed by Devenney. Rock will not be happy with that!

Does the referees need to be a bit more lenient they have to realise that these players have put in months of commitment just for the referees to dictate to them over such petty things. Especially in a heated game as today's game was. Another great game marred by a litany of brutal decisions.

Looks to have. Not sure what the thought process was. Remember them being light enough on numbers for some senior reserve games last year

So game was marred by a litany of brutal decisions but decided by one decision? Which one was it Noel?
It is what it is. Presumably.

Both to be honest, between black cards & red cards throughout the game. And then the decision at the end which decided the game. So it was both really.
