In all seriousness, though a quality player, he isn't better than any of the inside forwards that are on the panel
Who showed better on the day - McShane or Quinn?

Quinn for sure, McShane always going to score alot for club as absolutely every attack goes through him.

How many forwards would be like that though? Luke Donnelly Eglish, Conor Owens Beragh, McCullagh Lough, Cassidy Donaghmore etc. Would say there's plenty of ones around the same level as him but that might be harsh on Quinn. Can't say I watch Coalisland religiously

Tyrone could pick a few teams full of forwards all in the same mould - that is the problem for a lot of these lads. They are all too similar which is a pity for a lot of them. Some great players not near the county set up at all

See your point, that has been our problem as a few years within the county we have too many similar players. Conor Owens Beragh is a brilliant player, real senior championship calibre of player unfortunate for him hes stuck at beragh no disrespect intended just thinks hes a better standard of player than where he will likely play his football majority of his career (DIV 2/3). Work with a lad from Beragh was telling me hes worried about the upcoming year he can see them going down which i was shocked at, maybe more going on he didnt want to tell me but we all know Div 3 the bedrock can be a tough place to climb out of.

Beragh alot closer to promotion than relegation - would take an awful lot to be going wrong for them to be anywhere near relegation with the team they have and the Youth that is coming through.

Sometimes players just need exposure to a higher standard, Conor Owens looks to me like someone who could do a great job for Tyrone at senior level

Last year if they lost their final league game against Cookstown they were down..

Have heared Owens is for America in the summer. Shot to the heart for Beragh.

What's the pick of the games this weekend? i was thinking of heading to aghaloo/Eglish by all reports aghaloo were very good last week if it wasnt for a Conroy masterclass they would have got over the line.

These inter county competitions delaying club football is a joke.

Minor and U20 should be straight knock out - none of this group stage bullshit.

Up until 2023, the 20/21's was always straight knock out - why did it change?
And the GAA complain about burn out - sure they cause it with all these needless games. Tyrone hammered a few teams in the group stages - why are these pointless games needed.

Real players and teams stand up in straight KO competitions - that is by far the best format - always has been over the years and always should be.

I honestly think that's why the crowds are poor at these games - drags on too long, too many games and the club suffers - everybody loses interest

U20 championship should last 6/7 weeks from start to finish then get the club football started.....

That's where it all happens for 97% of the players

Jerome

To be fair all other counties are playing away. It's just Tyrone that grind their leagues to a halt.

It has to have some effect on the normal club player, they have been in gyms since December and on the pitches from January. I know the modern day manager/game has to take accountability for that but when one team is at it the rest will follow suit. The uncertainty and prolonging of league starts from talking to a few players seems to be impacting their motivation. Hard thing to get right, other counties may be playing away and not at a stand still but on the other hand there are no leagues that come close to Tyrone's for competitiveness and entertainment. Finding the balance is the hard part.
