Christ it's not even August yet and dumb and dumber are back with their excellent smiley posts.

Unlike you, they seem to take a break.
Laoislad has more interest in Liverpool than Laois i guess that's all we need to know.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

you forgot aurelio. im nit picking i know. :)

think this highlights the need for pool to get rid of some deadwood;
squad strength definitely goin in the right way; a few good options round midfield these days, still a tad light up front imo....

So I did so I've made a few changes and if anything, fitness permitting there is much more balance across the board.  As regards deadwood though I would genuinely say the only players I could put my hand on heart and say I would be happy to see the back of is Jones and Cole.  All the rest of the 3rd team for instance would need to be kept as they are very young and the future players.  If you want to get rid of anyone in the second team they need to be replaced, perhaps apart from one of the MFs ie AA or Merieles.  There is not really that many surplus players over the 33 players.  Deadwood to my mind which must be moved on are the likes of El Zhar, Deggen, Jova, Poulsen, Jones and if someone can be found to take on his wages Cole.  If, for instance, N'Gog left he would have to be replaced by a 4th striker, either an up and coming or and experienced pro happy to play that role.

i actually wouldnt disagree too much a tall with your list of deadwood; if we got rid of the majority of that list it would be a heluva start; give that batch of young boys another year or two to make their push, then move on the boys that arent up to scratch;
i think the scary thing is that you can name 3 teams plus have some extra, you would think 24-30 players would near be plenty;
big dave; every time i think to myself "yer times up big man" he'll come on like he did the last day, bang in two, and look like a player (i know the opposition was questionable);
overall cf is an area i think we're still weak, id rather have kuyt as a backup backup, than my next choice (still well worth his place at rm);
the 3 left backs, insua,aurelio and robinson, time for one to step up to the plate, insua and aurelio in particular obviously;
and centre halves, could replace soto with a younger brit (tho this could be where kelly comes in);

i think we'll buy again if we get rid of some players..(staing the obvious probably)

They will be looking to move him on but he didn't do himself any favours with his "performances" last year. I would say he is on a fairly high salary too which won't appeal to many teams & he is probably content to sit as a sub all season.

The unfortunate thing is that Copehagan **** aint for moving. Last big contract, he'd rather rot in the reserves rather than move on. It would take a payment by Liverpool to another club towards his new contract to get a move. Same with Cole. Maybe short term pain but massive long term gain.

I could claim four counties in GAA however in Soccer i'm a total neutral & don't have the time to support/follow a side.

Capt Pat

Are Poulsen Jovanovic and Cole really finished at Liverpool. They are quite a talented trio who have done well in the past. Kenny coming in seems to have revitalised a lot of players. They could potentially still do ca lot for Liverpool.

Yet you side with the Man Utd posters here and the Rossies on the Connacht final thread. Seems more like you want licence to have a laugh at others and be "neutral" to any reply. Get off the fence man !

I sided with the Rossies because i believed they would bring more colour/excitement if they won the title & judging the Mayo celebrations or lack of i was proven correct.

I don't side with any soccer club but i hate WUMS & there happen to be more on the Man United thread than anywhere else.

Booked flights for the Man united game on 15th oct, heading over with another board member.

Missed out on the ticket sales this week, due to not enough credits on my fan card.

If anyone can help sort me out with tickets for this 1, I would be more than grateful, thanks.
GAABoard Fantasy Cheltenham Competition- Most winners 2009

Bingo

Heading to that game myself, had a spare for it last season but it went to 1 credit then, while this year majority sold out at 6 with only a few selling at 3 credits.

Keep an eye for further sales on lower credits nearer the game. Use the international ticket line if some go on sale rather than online, that's provided you not based in NI?

More than entitled to side with any team you wish but to be reading the Liverpool and Utd thread and not have any time to support a soccer team......ah come on !! Put your name up on a mast  :D
