Christ it's not even August yet and dumb and dumber are back with their excellent smiley posts.

Unlike you, they seem to take a break.
Laoislad has more interest in Liverpool than Laois i guess that's all we need to know.

Bit like your "neutral" support for the Rossies ;)

So a neutral Gaa fan as well as a neutral soccer fan ?
I could claim four counties in GAA however in Soccer i'm a total neutral & don't have the time to support/follow a side.

Yet you side with the Man Utd posters here and the Rossies on the Connacht final thread. Seems more like you want licence to have a laugh at others and be "neutral" to any reply. Get off the fence man !

I sided with the Rossies because i believed they would bring more colour/excitement if they won the title & judging the Mayo celebrations or lack of i was proven correct.

I don't side with any soccer club but i hate WUMS & there happen to be more on the Man United thread than anywhere else.

More than entitled to side with any team you wish but to be reading the Liverpool and Utd thread and not have any time to support a soccer team......ah come on !! Put your name up on a mast  :D

I always had a enthusiasm for the sport i read all soccer threads here & post on most of them it's another thing supporting a soccer club.

I reckon Aquilani could become a big player for Liverpool this year, nothing expected of him and great on the ball.

Heading to that game myself, had a spare for it last season but it went to 1 credit then, while this year majority sold out at 6 with only a few selling at 3 credits.

Keep an eye for further sales on lower credits nearer the game. Use the international ticket line if some go on sale rather than online, that's provided you not based in NI?

Yeah I'm based in NI

If anyone can sort me out for this, please send a PM

thanks

Well, Mrs d has received the offer of a season ticket. Not sure what to do, obviously she won't be getting to many matches so it's a question of whether my brother-in-law wants to go Dutch on it. It's a pity, five years ago we wouldn't have hesitated and it would possibly have influenced our decision to move to Ireland. Now? I don't think we'll move back for it!

Is via the club or someone giving up their season ticket for a year?

If its via the club their is the option to resell individual games back to the club at a discounted price. For the bigger games you can use it or let friends or that use it.

If she doesn't take it now, she's off the waiting list and may never get the offer again. I know if she took it, she'd have no bother "loaning" it out for the season until things change your end, loads would be willing to do this.

Edit to say I'd be interested in discussing this with you. PM me if you want.

Get it, I'm sure you'll have people on here who'll go. Is it just one ticket or two?

As the Levellers sang, it's just the one. Looks like we're going to get it, the thought of spurning something that we (okay, she) first applied for about 15 years ago is not a pleasant one.

3 teenage stars of the future added or about to be added the squad this week.
Can't say I know anything about any of them.

Mexico U17 striker Marco Bueno is set to arrive at Liverpool next month with a view to signing a five-year contract.

His current club Pachuca held a meeting with the player and his parents on Monday to agree arrangements, with the youngster reportedly due on Merseyside sometime in early August to begin training with the reserves.

"A pre-contract with the parents and Bueno was signed to be sent to Liverpool," said vice-president Andres Fassi.

"So we are accepting the 10-day trial and the conditions, if the English decide to keep him."

Bueno, talking about the prospective move to England, said: "I have to face it with great motivation and commitment to represent the country in the best way, and with faith that everything is achievable."

Reports in the Spanish media also claim Liverpool have secured a deal for Albacete youngster Nacho, who had a successful trial with the club's under-18s earlier this month.

The Spanish press say the Reds have paid £150,000 up front for the striker with a further £350,000 of potential add-ons, plus a 15 per cent sell-on fee.

Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Malaga were all reportedly interested in the player.

and..

American teenager Villyan Bijev has agreed terms this weekend with Premier League giants Liverpool, according to a report from Californian news channel KMPH Fox 26.

The striker will avoid any work permit issues because he holds Bulgarian citizenship through his father, Chris, who was born in Bulgaria and is now a renowned attorney in Northern California specialising in immigration and nationality issues.

The 18-year-old forward has been a prolific scorer with his club, Cal Odyssey, in the Development Academy for the past three seasons. Last year, he notched over 20 goals as his team finished as runners-up in the Under-16 section. This year, he averaged a goal a game and was voted into the national starting XI at the Under-18 level.

A native of Fresno, Bijev played for the USA's Under-18 team in May at the Lisbon International tournament.

The youngster is understood to have impressed the Liverpool coaching staff while on trial at the Anfield club last week, scoring five goals and contributing two assists in two games for the Reds' Under-18 academy team.

MLSsoccer.com's Greg Seltzer reports that Bijev signed a five-year contract with the Reds and was immediately sent out on loan to Belgian champions Racing Genk, where he is expected to challenge for playing time with the first team this season. Bijev is a member of the United States' U-18 national team player pool but also holds a Bulgarian passport, which greatly simplifies the process of securing a work permit.
