I know Liverpool are not good enough to finish in the top 5 but they would have a good enough squad to finish 6/7/8. There is no way that the likes of Stoke, Sunderland & Blackpool who are currently above Liverpool have better players but they have managers who have organized their teams so they know what their jobs are....not a team that has 3 centre midfielders in midfielder with one on right midfield & a limited right winger converted from striker playing on the left wing....no-one had a clue where they were playing.

But I also believe the players should take alot of responsibilty, a complete lack of effort & urgency. Wolves were so comfortable it was unbelievable.

The only solution is Woy to go, as the players aren't playing for him.

thats debatable. I have said as last 2 years, take out Torres and Gerrard and they have nobody much better than those 3 clubs have.

were you saying that 2 years ago when they were sitting top of the league?

Looking back at March/April 2008 the Rafa era peaked! since then they sky-rocketed down. blowing the title chance by losing to boro & Chelsea KO in Cl. Then the following season was terrible 7th in league & embarrassing cup knock outs.

Of course selling Mascherano,Alonso didn't help & Roy Hodgson's was never capable of managing a big club

Dalglish should be appointed & the dead wood should be cleared out to steady the ship.

More quotes from Roy that leave me mystified

"When I think about it had I chosen a different team which did not have a midfield of Dirk Kuyt, Lucas Leiva, Steven Gerrard and Raul Meireles, with Fernando Torres and David Ngog up front, I don't think things would have been different."

"I fear whatever team I chose the performance would have been the same and that showed when I made the three substitutions and it didn't alter the level of performance."

His starting team had no balance in midfield. His three subs did nothing to change the formation or approach of the team. No direction last night from the sideline or on the field but sure its not Roy's fault. Nothing he could have done could have changed the performance. Its never his fault is it.

This was a squad on the decline from before rafa left, I dont think fergie could fix that lot, they are going through the motions and the manager is part of the blame not all of the blame, the players are a disgrace at the moment, no fire, no passion and they have mailed it in.

daglish is not the answer, you may as well take keano for all the good either would do.

Ranieri would be a good man for Liverpool. Martin Jol would be an option too!

So no chance of King Kenny being the messiah then?

I'm not the messiah, I'm a very naughty boy.

He is a God around Anfield, he is also smart enough to know that the current league position is as much to do with lack of quality in the squad as it is with managerial mistakes. Why would he risk his reputation on that group of players? He is too cute for that I think!

If Kenny was offered the chance to take over he would grab it with both hands. Liverpool is the only job in football he would ever want again and he has been wanting to get back in since he left 20 years ago.

He put himself forward after Benitez left but the board (at the time) told him that he wouldn't be considered. He'd take it alright.

Bingo

Massive myth about this squad been poor, it's not a league winning squad but it's by no means a mid table squad. Rafa was sacked for underachieveing and finishing seventh last year, bar masch leaving and not been adequately replaced ie poulsen, it's the same core squad that should be competing in top half.

Roy is massively out of his depth and clueless. Or rafa done brillantly last year and a load of his haters need to give him some credit.

I'd take kenny in a minute and his reputation wouldn't be damaged, he'll be forever king kenny and it goes beyond what he has done on the field.

I don't know how to feel about this situation anymore.  The manager is spineless, gutless, powerless and totally inept at the job he has been graced.  The media is spinning hard for him but he has lost it and I personally believe that this will be his last job in football as I cannot see him coming out with any credit left.  Bingo is right, there is not a top 4 squad yet but there is a squad with the right guidance who should be touching the top 6 and not 3 points off relegation.  He has been the steward of the worst run for Liverpool since before Shanklys time.  While I do believe the owners are being careful in what they are doing, ie that they are looking for a new manager, there needs to be something done in the short term before the club really gets locked into a relegation fight because if they do I fear that there is a really big chance they will go down.

The owners have been conspicious in not backing him publically as have the players but the reality is that if Bolton beat them at the weekend, and there is a possibility that will happen.  By the time Liverpool play Blackburn away they could conceiveably be in the bottom 3.  5 points above the bottom of the table is not where Liverpool should be with the players that are there so it is vital that the decision is made now to move him on and bring Kenny in short term with a clear mandate to save the season.  I think it will happen.
