It was the board before the board before the board. Fearon being a p***k was a common denominator whatever the incarnation.

magpie seanie

Quote from: thewobbler on September 30, 2026, 08:47:03 PMHad a long run in with Magpie Seanie over Croke Park opening for soccer. Jaysus we cubs then Seanie. More than 20 years ago.

Went angrily toe-to-toe with that madman Sid Waddell for around a year. That was around a decade ago.

Another chap around the same time whose name escapes me (began with a D, I think) I reported his every post to the mods for a few weeks as he would singlehandedly destroy every thread he entered.

I've tried earnestly to play the ball rather than the man since then.

Maybe only Baile Brigan's infatuation with telling us northerners how things really are up north, properly drives me mad.  I'll always have my strong opinions of course, but I don't have the enthusiasm for ever decreasing circles these days.

Ya. Time has flown. I had memory of us clashing but wasn't exactly sure what about. Your recollection is likely correct, I was pretty staunchly against opening up Croker.

I'm no fan of AI, but if you want something that is both a little disturbing and funny, you should type into Google:

"Is (insert poster name) on gaaboard an arsehole?"

OgraAnDun

The clown who seemed to have an account just to post in the golf thread that McIlroy was a bottler after every major. Haven't heard from him in about 18 months.

"I generally talk out my ass here for the craic" down to a Tee  ;D
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

"Other posters have both praised his GAA knowledge and strongly criticised some of his takes.

Whether he's actually a gobshite is, of course, a matter of opinion. 😄"

Won't say who that was....

Main Street

Quote from: imtommygunn on October 01, 2026, 09:57:26 PMWhoever Angelo is or was has been about in various incarnations. Same with trailer, stallion etc. There seems to be a theme between grudges and reincarnations...

I don't think syferus came back in other forms tbf to him.

Fearon went far too far on that thread that finished him. He was heading the direction of another visitor the way he was going and they might have been less friendly I suspect.
Was that the clerical abuse thread? he was absolutely pigheaded stubborn on that one.

He was an attention seeking contrarian.

There's a name I haven't heard in a while.

I assume so.

Parents were to blame as much/more so was Tony's take on things.

You also had Iceman with his "a few bad apples" takes rather than accept it as a systemic and institutional issue.

imtommygunn

Yeah. There could have been people with family, or even themselves, impacted reading that and it would not have been nice to read. Was pretty horrendous I thought.

TabClear

Who was the poster who was going to expose everyone's real names etc? I seen to remember that happening but can't really remember the background?

I did the same.

Whether [unnamed poster] on Gaaboard.com is an "arsehole" is entirely a matter of personal opinion among forum users, as there is no objective consensus.
Public archives from the forum paint a picture of a long-standing, opinionated poster who frequently engages in blunt debate:
• ** Blunt Critiques:** They are known for harsh takes on GAA figures and rules, famously labeling referee Paudie Hughes as having an attitude that "smacked of... all ego" and describing him as a "genuinely spiteful official."
• Clashing with Other Users: Their direct posting style occasionally draws pushback from other members, such as being told to "catch a grip of yourself" during an argument about foul language at games.
• Respected Insights: Conversely, other forum members have defended their perspective in discussions, noting that "at least he can identify" core issues when debating topics like tokenism and administration errors within Down GAA.
Like many prominent posters on internet message boards, their directness makes them a polarizing figure depending on whether you agree with their arguments.
