Seriously? Where did you hear that?
Careful now

Dougal Maguire

Thanks. Jesus that's a worrying development.
Careful now

Not enough riot police there to clear the crowd as it stands. I suspect they'll wait til late tonight, after midnight, to force the road.

Those dickheads on the parade's commission and Justice McAlinden should be tarred and feather for causing this needless aggravation in Northern Ireland. A clear dereliction of their duty to uphold the GFA and peaceful coexistence. What the f**k did they expect to happen once they sided with the bigots of the OO? How stupid are they?

McAlinden applied the law, nothing more.

Direct your (as usual ill informed and poorly thought out) ire at the PC if you must. It was them that made the initial f**k up, which they've subsequently doubled down on.

Ever.

Fair play to  the residents.

Why do you say that?
They won't be able  to remove the residents .

And any  future planned march will have ten times the  people on the road.

It's over.

You sound like Carla Lockhart and Bryson, hiding behind the excuse that the law is sacrosanct and must be applied. The same excuse made by Mcalinden when he blocked the A5 over minor and spurious admin errors.

The rest of us with a modicum of intelligence know that's what's legal and illegal is not the same as what's right and what is wrong. A distinction clearly lost on the judges and halfwits that make up the Parades Commission.

You may be right but how long will the shit show continue before Byrant and the PSNI reach that conclusion? He's currently not speaking like a man who intends to de-escalate this or stand up to the DUP. And when he does it's not like Bryson and Lockhart will go away quietly.

I didn't realise that the idea that judges apply the law would be so controversial.

This is not McAlinden's fault, you utter imbecile.

As the saying goes, the law is an ass. Must be an absolute moron to both block the A5 and allow these c***ts down Garvaghy

The thing is they will get down this road. They will probably get down it every year after this too.

I don't see how they will. And surely future parades will have to be stopped.

Engage in abuse sure, it's your default position no matter what the topic.

Clearly most people feel there's a disconnect between what the courts and these quasi-legal bodies like the parades commission think and the rest of society. More and more law and the courts seem like a Mason's lodge, full of incomprehensible rules, designed to be exploited by a cosy few who know how to use them and the rest of us who get left to deal with the consequences.

The A5 and the recent commission ruling and all the late night appeals are typical of this increasing removal of common sense from the courts.

You say that applying the law shouldn't be controversial but can you actually explain to us in simple terms why the A5 or PC decisions went the way they did?

f**k me, it is incredibly simple.

A5? Because the incompetent DfI fucked up and didn't tick the boxes it needed to.

Drumcree? Because the incompetent PC fucked up and didn't tick all the boxes it needed to.

Judges do not have the discretion to consciously choose to ignore the law because the outcome is a disgrace. Is it that difficult to comprehend?! But sure just you keep ranting and raving. That'll help.
