Similarities to 2022 about Carrickmore this season. Favourable run to a final. Came close to Errigal that year in the final. On a stand alone day, they could certainly nip it if they got there.
I fancy Donaghmore tonight, serious threat from their Half Back Line & Midfield, on top of 3/4 very good forwards.

Alot of use men are reading too much into history. What evidence is there that this carrickmore team has more winning experience than donaghmore? We are talking about a team with plenty of all ireland medals in it at youth level. From what i seen Donaghmore played all the football on Saturday,Donaghmore by two.

The evidence has been shown when this generation of carmen lost narrowly in the final in 2022 to Errigal and were a minute or two from a final last year. Have proven that they can play in them games, Donaghmore never in them games to begin with.

He asked about winning experience and you mention two games carmen lost. Away on back to the plum ya dingo.

Quote from: FrankJnr on September 24, 2026, 08:57:02 AMWill Donaghmore have too much firepower tonight, saying the game wont be a tale of two different halfs again?
Donaghmore surely to come good the amount of county / borderline county players they have
Donaghmore do have quite an array of talent.

Current seniors in Joey Clarke, Conor O'Neill, Ronan Cassidy and Noah Grimes.  Former/potential returning Seniors in Ben Hughes and Conor Cush and a former Tyrone Senior in Niall McKenna.

Carrickmore are a very talented side. Set up for another brilliant game.

Current Senior in Lorcan McGarrity. Former Senior players in Brian Conway, James Donaghy, Rory Donnelly, Johnathon Munroe, Cormac Munroe (potential return call up on current form). Potential call up in Danny Fullerton.

I get the arguement but cant really judge teams based on how many current/ex county players they have as we seen with trillick the other night with Rory Brennan, the two Donnellys and Seanie Odonnell all completely anonymous when Trillick needed them.

knit pick at the words used all ye want bud. Carmen far far more experience in big championship games than donaghmore, not for debate. Underage titles mean nothing now unfortunately.

Hoping everyone is on the same page as me and calling Carrickmore to put the jinx on them.

If Logan cant get us over the line tonight it will be a good year for us regardless.
I have always depended on the kindness of strangers. All Ireland Club - 2030.

Carmen certainly more experienced in Big Championship games.  But on the other hand we seen what Loughmacrory have done. They hadn't won a championship quarter final until last season so Donaghmore have to break their duck in a big championship game at some stage given the talent they have and there's no reason why it won't be tonight

good point in all fairness. Experience can never be underestimated though.

Fella,

If you don't mind me asking how could this be personified as a good year ?

If they win tonight surely yes

if they lose they had a poor enough league campaign and beat a fairly shite eglish team

Heard donaghmore have a big shock lined up tonight #Bringbackmcgibbon

Will be very close. Carrickmore with a fit Fullerton would have taken Loughmacrory last year. They had the experience over that Lough side but they fell short.

Carrickmore look every bit of that additional year older. It could be a case of now or never for this current crop. There are talented younger teams coming through like Loughmacrory and Donaghmore.

Lough could go b2b and maybe start a period of dominance like Trillick.
Donaghmore probably a few years away yet but on the right tradjectory.

UtilityMan

Trillick period of dominance has to be commended as this team comes to the end of the line.

Since 2015 - 6x County Finals (5 of the last 7),  3x O'Neill Cups

Beat on penalties and by 1pt twice
