Could see a massive upturn in performance by Rashford this season. Running into last year of contract end of season so likely up for renewal discussions next summer. It's his form.

A short clip from journalist Henry Winter came up on my social media feed where he claimed Rashford was great at Barcelona and Aston Villa so why didn't either make an effort to sign him permanently?

He also claims Rashford is at his best when he's liked,

To be liked is your own responsibility and is Rashfords past carry on off the field and sulking on the field suddenly going to change to be liked?

He didn't try to hard too be liked toward the end of his first spell. Time will tell if he is willing to dig in and fight when it matters.

Still wish he had the attitude to play as a striker as I think he would offer more and score more goals with Bruno playing passes in behind for him to run on too. But he doesn't seem to want to do that for some reason.

Didn't he sulk with Mourinho because he wanted to play central but Jose said he wasn't suited. Eventually got his chance, and low and behold first few clatters he got in the back from CHs he didn't want to know anymore. Was out with a back injury too for good measure.

He's an absolute poison who should be made train on his own until the contracts up, but watch United give him a new deal!

Not beyond the realms of possibility if he has a great season but he'll be kicking the arse of 30 by then. Surely Utd will have learned and cash in on him instead.

Nothing justifies the way things went though there were mitigating circumstances. Amorim. Who nearly lost Mainoo only for the lad showed extraordinary (in these times) commitment to the club and his career. Amorim was simply toxic.

The way Rashford played in the 1 and a half games so far is more in line with the rest of his career and where United are now - it will do, for mow. He looks like his old self and maybe even more physical. A genuine headache for opposing teams.

As it stands I'd be more then happy if we finished with the 71 points we got last season, I'm amazed no left back has been bought or even a loan signing to provide cover for Shaw.

I know a lot of fans aren't happy but the reality is the club for a decade were a shambles on and off the pitch and it couldn't continue, wages now are under control and if United can finish top 5 this season then they'll be in a far stronger position too spend more next summer. Given what has been spent by other clubs United's £150m on 3 midfielders looks good business on the face of it although lets see how they play before getting carried away.

Arsenal should win the league although I'd argue the case our front 6 is better then there's but its defensively and squad wise there's no comparison, they have very little drop of between the best player in their best 11 and and their next 11 best players.

Its where United need to be, probably 4 players short of been at that level but we all know there's no guarantee the manager is good enough either.

Absolutely spot on.

I hope they can address something in January and that things aren't sunk by then.

Positives-

-Smart, solid signings made the last 2 windows and not for mad money, avoided giving stupid money/wages to the shiny new toys.
-Bruno and Mainoo are fantastic footballers.
-3 decent centre backs with 2 good prospects as well.
-Piles of potential with the likes of Mainoo, Amad, Lacey, Sesko, Heaven, Yoro, Dorgu, Santos, Baleba, Lammens
- A solid and reliable goalkeeper that has been lacking since DeGea started to decline.
-Solid midfielders with back up and options

Negatives
-no recognised back up at striker or left back, even the first choice options haven't a great injury record. (To put it mildly in Shaws case.
- lack of a top, top centre back- Maguire is decent but probably past his best and still has a brain fart in him, Martinez and De Ligt good players but questions over their injury records, the other 2 yes very talented but still not the finished article.
- 2 middling options at right back, both solid enough usually but won't set the world on fire.
- Huge question marks over Shaw at left back.
- Lack of a proper world class, 20 goal plus attacker (to be fair theres probably not many in the league outside Haaland anyway and a lack across the game as a whole)
-Rashford, Dalot, Maguire and Shaw still being starters after so many failures and poor games from them.
-Rahsfords potential to upset the applecart with his usual laziness and shit attitude (could potentially be a positive though if he knuckles down)

Veey poor peeformance today. Another 2 goals leaked. Both poorly conceded. Carrick is under pressure already. 4 points against 3 poor teams.  Taking Rashford off was a poor decision.
Baleba better be the missing defensive midfielder.

Two points dropped by conceding in the 6th minute of added time to a player that hasn't scored a goal for 8 years, will he ever strike the ball as cleanly again?

The lack of closing down shots that should be basic defending was very poor by United for both Everton goals.

2 goals conceded v Ipswich,Everton,Hull and up next in the Premier League is Man City with Haaland and co.

Rashford was limping before taken off and other than Sesko none of the subs made an impact.

To lose a goal that late is always galling, but they didnt do enough in open play to push for a 2nd and 3rd goal until they had too.

Again Shaw late to close down for the first goal and Lammens should be stronger at his near post, not much to do for the second. Just a really lethargic performance all round.

They left Maitland-Niles criminally open for the equaliser. Bruno fell asleep again.

I honestly can't get over the reaction to last weekend and I should know better I guess. There was an awful lot good about the performance. Biggest issues for me we (1) failure to really go after a second goal when 1-0 up/third when 2-1 up and (2) Shaw being unforgivably lazy on Everton's first goal (he made up for it a bit soon afterwards). Both really annoying as controllable and I thought United's workrate was in general quite good.

Rashford went to get a gel from the bench pretty early in second half and it was confirmed he had a knock. The hysteria has gone from "how dare he bring that c*** back" to "how dare he take him off". Rashford has been excellent in the three games and looks like the best version of himself.

Annoying thing is I don't think Everton troubled United too much but United should have sewn the game up. They are not built to "control" a game.......trying to score is also a legitimate way of protecting a lead! Especially when you're not good at the boring over and back passing. I also cannot understand how Cunha didn't get a penalty after Rashford's run. Tarkowski did get the ball but he clearly went through Cunha and I thought tackles from behind were a thing of the past anyway???

The squad is thin. The full backs in particular can be got at. I hope there's more to come from Tielemans. I think Cunha is not doing the business at centre forward.
