Think you're on the wrong account "weegortinjoe" Unless you were celebrating the beating of a Derrylaughan team who were lucky not to get relegated to Division 3.

Predict Derrylaughan to go down next year.

Quote from: 2ndstringsub on August 17, 2026, 08:33:17 AMWith division 2 league all but wrapped up yesterday a few things are worth mentioning.

1st of all well done to Niamh and Owen on going more or less undefeated until the devils nectar got involved yesterday. By all accounts they have got themselves playing good football and everyone paddling the same canoe to move them forward.

Fines need to be upped for teams not fielding both in reserves and particularly seniors. How the Moy could with a straight face give a walkover to Cookstown yesterday is nothing short of a disgrace. I don't care if it was a wedding a stag etc. There would have been 15 men left somewhere in the Moy to take that tanking and give Cookstown a game.

Playoffs must go back to previous setup. The amount of points seemingly gifted towards the latter stages of the league is a joke. The danger is obviously needed at the top and bottom of the league to ensure that everyone has something to play for even if it is just dragging your neighbours/rivals down with you.

Championship draws after league has finished. Seeded draw - top 8 plays bottom 8. Rewarded for finishing the league strong to ensure an 'easier' first round match.

Goals_Will_Come

The obvious solution in my opinion would be to bring back 1A 1B 2A 2B and have two going up and down betweeen each. Home and away fixture against each team.
Eg. Winner of 2A and Intermediate Champ Winner are promoted. Bottom of 2A are relegated and joined by loser of a play off between teams that finished 6th and 7th. Top in 2B and winner of play off between 2nd and 3rd promoted.
This only equates to 14 league games and 1 extra play off round for a few teams.
Allows the county board to play 7 starred games and they can bring in the staggered point system they wanted to bring in this year as every team will be worth the same points.
Allows the league to start in April if they wish - May is fine in my opinion.
It Structures the league better as there does seem to be clear bottom half and top half teams in Senior and Intermdiate.

Cant argue against that.

Fair play to Galbally yesterday when going 14 points up deciding to take off their main men and giving their young lads on the bench minutes and giving their parish neighbours a chance to make the scoreline less embarrassing.

Donaghmore not at the races it seems
- Conan mcgarvey rumoured to be taking pints  in tallys bar after the game a fella in work was saying dunno if theres truth in this ?

- Regardless Galbally showed class and dodged a bullet from that Mcgarvey lad

- Unfortunatley our season was cut short by the Fintona men class act with alot to add.

- As for now start of a long Pre season for us Urney boys
