As the old saying goes, turkeys don't vote for Christmas. Clubs will never vote on something that's impacting them negatively despite it being in the greater interest.

The county board own the competition and have responsibility to ensure its quality is  upheld. Now i won't be saying they where right or wrong, I wasn't in the room and without discussion or rehashing how we got here I'd be genuinely interested in hearing people's thoughts on what needs improved and how this is achieved

With regards the development committee, again, who's left and where is it at? Does this fall under the remit of the coaching officer in the county now?

I've no idea of the dynamics of the group but would be interested in learning.

I'm going to say that the clubs put proposals to the the county, they are voted on and passed or deferred, or defeated

Some are amended and passed, but any, any changes to the leagues, the format and how many teams are involved in it, is done by the clubs, of course turkeys are not going to vote for xmas, but that's the way it is and should be..

If the GAA boarders what change, here's a few simple tips, join a club, pay your membership, go to the AGM's, join the committees, put in a proposal, speak to other clubs, gauge opinions and amend if possible present to the county at county convention and going through those channels, may, if voted on will be passed if the majority are happy with it

This is whats supposed to happen. In reality whether its a club or county you'll have a few people coming up with ideas and then they'll strong arm them into being.

That's then down to those who don't push it.. There seems to be a collective will on here that the leagues have no meaning, they haven't been a priority tbf for as long as county managers have had the extended seasons and full control of the players..

Supporters want to turn up to a blood and thunder local rivalry clash and bag the bragging rights, but that loses its appeal when its part reserves lining out. This imo needs looked at also, county v club, its as old as time lol.

Would we complain about over training, games, then fatigue if the county lads were allowed to play club and county, train for both or do we think that the modern day set up of county training and conditioning would be too much..

Strike a balance for sure, but be rest assured one or two clubs will feel that it doesn't work for them and so we go on...

I've witnessed leagues with 8 and 10 and 12 and so on, there has never been a big push on them, and there won't be until they actually have meaning towards, seeding in championship, a benefit of home games or whatever, but the league has to have a purpose

Ok so a lot of content on what went before and nothing on what should come next.

Can we have some real proposals and reasons why that plan would be a success?

Is it not the purpose of a discussion board to have discussions?

Of course, I've given a solution to make the league  mean something, though for some reason people are blaming the county board for what clubs vote on, now if you can tell me  differently or explain an example of when clubs didn't vote for something I'm willing to listen and discuss that..

Well i do know that the last significant change was suggested by a few clubs to avoid relegation (ie my own club) and also to promote Div 2 teams with the hope they'd maintain Div 1 status

The feeling at the time was that it was more a talking and agreeing shop than an actual engagement and develop process

Ah Casement, so let's talk about the leagues the clubs agreed to again, the Jamie Bryson deflection is dumb, but not surprising

So who's to blame for Casement Park?

Ulster council took it from Antrim and ran this..

Antrim we're at fault for handing it over but this fuckup lies at the door of the Ulster council

A cluster of balls up. From an Antrim perspective a smaller stadium in the long run is probably a good thing.

Ulster Council. Looking for photo opportunities.

We've just stumbled from one mess to another. Jumped ahead and smashed up the terraces, destroyed the pitch, stripped any value and now going back to the drawing board.  Ineptitude of the highest order throughout and Antrim football and hurling lay at the bottom of any priority list.
