Louth's Conor Grimes

"The majority of my career was spent in Divisions 3 and 4 so I absolutely appreciate every day training with this panel in great facilities at Darver and operating at the level we are operating at,"

There were games with 50 people watching us. I was looking back at some footage and you could hear a dog barking in one of the games so small was the crowd.
"And now we are selling out Croke Park so it is phenomenal where we have come from in a short space of time."

Mickey Harte came in, he was so high profile and still is - a legend in the GAA. For him to come down and take a chance on us when no one else would have done that said a huge amount to us.
"We owe a lot to him.
"I still remember the day the news broke and it was massive for us because everyone wanted to be part of the set up then.
"For years we didn't always have our best players on pitch. We have two league of Ireland soccer clubs in this county and we didn't always get the best players.
"But we had no problem with that when Mickey and Gavin came.

Ger Brennan brought us to that elusive Leinster title and we were on a real roll. Gavin had also worked with our underage set-up and from there he has ensured that the enthusiasm keeps rolling for us.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Kerry will likely blow Dublin away and saunter to Sam, but they need to do it in first half. Rested and refreshed with all the ducks lining up.

Con will be marshalled by speedfreak Foley.

I expect Joe O'Connor MOTM display, game set up perfectly for him.

Wildweasel74

Kerry only won 1 of the last 7 against them.

Captain Scarlet

All logic says the Dubs can't go to the well again and that they don't have enough to do it, but for some reason I am not so sure.
Scully is having an awesome season. O'Coffaigh-Byrne is after coming into his own and they you have Kilkenny and CON too.

The only thing would be that if Kilkenny gets tied into doing too much donkey work then that spells trouble.

Louth are very streetwise and seem to be coming on stronger as the season goes. Lennon is a class act that would add to any team and he is flying.
They all seem to know what they have to do and could frustrate Mayo. Hard one to call, but I do fancy Louth.

I do expect my musings on Dublin v Kerry to turn out to be BS by Monday!
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

And?

Kerry are tipping along and havent caught fire anything like last year.

Plenty of motivation given this is the final and the 2023 failure.

Wildweasel74

Not the final. Some attitude righting off other teams, is that not what u Tyrone posters were complaining about the other week.

I didnt give tyrone much of a hope but the 3weeks in a row was the only glimmer and they almost capitalised.

We will see on Sunday. Fancy Louth to beat Mayo, who are far from a finished article.

Yeah if Louth can turn up and perform I think they're a better team than Mayo, massive occasion for both counties though which will be a factor.

Majority of that Dublin team are either retired or past their prime. Scully, Con and Kilkenny still driving the team but are beyond their best now.

Kerry players from 2014-18 minor winning teams coming into their prime and will be dominate for coming years.

Will be Kerry v Mayo.

One change foe Louth and Mayo

CiarĂ¡n Keenan starts for Louth instead of Mathews, Towey replaces Conor Loftus for Mayo
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

DaleCooper

Full house?

Best of luck may the best team win. Mayo are semi specialists, Louth have serious resilience.

DaleCooper

V lax Louth. Nervy turnovers. ROD goal first Mayo score!

3-1

Mayo playing against breeze so pressure on Louth to win this half

Schkite

Unfortunate goal to concede, poorly turned over and then a shot which the keeper should save tbh
