Both Kerry and Tyrone have named unchanged teams for Saturday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final.

That means Kerry have elected to hold Seán O'Shea and Gavin White in reserve on a very strong looking subs bench again.

There's one change to the match-day panel with Micheál Burns returning to the 26 after the suspension that kept him out of Rounds 2 and 3. Tomás Kennedy drops down to the Stand By Players list.

There's also the notable inclusion of a fit again Tom O'Sullivan on the Stand By Players list. It'll be interesting to see if he makes the jump to the match-day panel by the time the game comes around.

Tyrone supporters were surely hoping that Darragh Canavan would be in a position to play a bigger part in this match after coming on as a substitute against Mayo two weeks ago, but he isn't even named in the Stand By Players list as he was for that game.

The extra week's preparation is definitely an advantage for Tyrone, but based on what we've seen from both teams thus far in the championship it's hard to look beyond a Kerry victory.

If they break even in the battle for possession in the middle third of the pitch then the superior scoring power provided by David Clifford, Dylan Geaney, and Paul Geaney should make them too hot to handle for Tyrone.

And even if it is a match of fine margins you'd fancy a Kerry bench that includes players like O'Shea, White, Burns, Tony Brosnan, and Keith Evans to make a decisive impact.

Its the stage where we are at. No Canavans, Ruairi McCullagh injured. Conor O'Neill, Ciaran Bogue, Lorcan McGarrity all good young players and need to see how they get on when called upon.
McElholm and Cassidy have the profiles to be top players in a couple of years at county.
Oguz, McDonnell, Aidan Donaghy would be useful around the middle this game as sub options but are unavailable

Wehave all the best backs on and a planefor Clifford, but l think the key is to get our 2 corners fully engaged Jordan for 2pointers and free McElhom for key breaks and goals with Mattie out firld a bit more conducting the band with other 3 forwards running brave and fast aound him. Watch for Gavin White coming on conductor of orchestra and O'Connor the bully boy ( tip him over don't get provoked Conn!). So sad DC is out wierd stuff.
As ever not favorates SO WHAT nothing new do or die absokutely nothingto lose. McCurry ckmes on to open the door McElholm goal to finish them.

Rain looks likely....not that it would make a massive difference.

Kerry will want to kill the game early as Jack will be aware energy could be an issue down the home stretch but then they have serious men in reserve.

Can White/O Shea slot in seamlessly to a white hot battle in Croker?

If Tyrone could somehow get a lead on them, hold it to 50th minute and get fresh legs on who knows.

This tyrone team isnt any weaker than in 2021, and again new rules last year and tyrone were the closest team to them.

The main hope is the Kerry keeper is untested at the big game stage plus Kerry playing 3 Saturdays in a row. Our intensity has been decent and we should be able to sustain it well.

Donegal won 8 of kerrys kickout in a row in league final and made hay.

If we get some joy and are able to press intensely for first half, not impossible to get a 10 point lead. I am sure there is a plan for this eventuality, however unlikely.

Donegals 3 goal smash and grab was freakish but demonstrated that weakness.

This is what the lads build toward and maybe they will have timed it perfectly to hit some form...its gonna need everything for a win.

Hope Paddy Neilan is not intimidated by the big names.

Brave determined effort 1pt win maybe would have reflected balance, goal at end pity.lmagine if we had had 2 Canavans and McCullagh available. Thought they would have Devlin on Clifford from start. MCCurry hinest determined brilliant maybe could have brought him on straight after HT.Could have tried working 2 pointer at end b4 that last lucky scrambled goal. Ref again no friend balance of frees 3+ against Throne. Also Kerry breech ignored. TYRONE ran themselves in to the ground ( strength and conditioning might have been a bit below required?)

 Still great stuff can be proud of them. NEXT YEAR SAM.

Such a shame. Lads deserved extra time at least. The Umpire call is the worst as it just shows how much of a joke Umpire officiating is.


Scandalous really considering level of preparation. Ref couldnt even sneak a peak at video replay.

Progress still but bear in mind we got a leggy Kerry, such a great chance to nab Sam...we will rue it unfortunately.
