Donegal have shown twice if you throw a slap or two at them and get physical they lie down. Tyrone need to follow this mantra and also learn from Armagh's mistakes and go at them. Jordan's two point potential could be crucial for Tyrone. Fitness of Canavan also a big factor, even for squad depth. Teague on David Clifford, Devlin on Paudie Clifford, McKernan for O'Shea when he features, not sure what the plan for Joe O'Connor would be.

Don't really see any evidence of that to be honest. Kerry are well able to mix it and stand up for themselves.

With David Clifford I would go the opposite direction. Do not engage him in a physical contest. He thrives off the physicality and often initiates it regardless of what the media and Kerry fans say. Some players play even better when the are fired up, deprive him of that.

Focus on winning the ball in front of him, frustrate him by staying with him. Anytime he tries to engage in a brawl walk away. He will be out to get a few men booked. I would guarantee this would annoy him more that trying to bully him. When he gets frustrated, he is prone to a rash challenge or two which will work in our favour.

Paudie and a few of the other lads I would get physical with not because they cant handle it more so because they will lash out more obviously than David.

The worst thing Teague (if on him) can do is engage in anything physical before the throw in and be prepared for Clifford to throw a shoulder as he shakes his hand. As you say ignoring will rile him up more than biting back at him.

Jordan for us likewise, he will either deliver or wilt. Cant assume McCurry can repeat his Mayo display, would hold him on bench til half time.

Morgan is going to need a near perfect game and hopefully he is told not to roam. Totally mad with new rules *unless his job is to have a go OR kick accurate foot passes* but hes only doing role anyone can do.

Kerry are bigger team, the battle needs to be relentless psychologically.

If we do get over kerry this would be a real turning point for the team much like 2003. Would be great to see.

Is there something going on with the canavans, irish news now saying Darragh unlikely to play against kerry. Darragh last game was against Armagh in April when he played about 25 min or so of football. Ruairi has played very little and was already ruled out for rest of the year

No. Ruairi Canavan ok crutches the last day out v mayo. Darragh injured as well

Irish News just said he wasn't going to be starting which isn't that surprising considering he was only fit for around 5 minutes last day out. You'd hope there's 15/20 minutes in him on Saturday.

Darragh needs a break to get right. This craic of bringing on half fit players is a disaster even when they might be a threat.

Hes had ankle trouble, hip flexors as well. Hes 26 now and will be vital to Tyrone in years ahead.

Tyrone were give 6/1 in 2021. We were the team closest to them last year, even thought it may not seem as such. We won't be far away

Kerry v Tyrone, Croke Park, 6.15pm - GAA+

Both Kerry and Tyrone have named unchanged teams for Saturday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final.

That means Kerry have elected to hold Seán O'Shea and Gavin White in reserve on a very strong looking subs bench again.

There's one change to the match-day panel with Micheál Burns returning to the 26 after the suspension that kept him out of Rounds 2 and 3. Tomás Kennedy drops down to the Stand By Players list.

There's also the notable inclusion of a fit again Tom O'Sullivan on the Stand By Players list. It'll be interesting to see if he makes the jump to the match-day panel by the time the game comes around.

Tyrone supporters were surely hoping that Darragh Canavan would be in a position to play a bigger part in this match after coming on as a substitute against Mayo two weeks ago, but he isn't even named in the Stand By Players list as he was for that game.

The extra week's preparation is definitely an advantage for Tyrone, but based on what we've seen from both teams thus far in the championship it's hard to look beyond a Kerry victory.

If they break even in the battle for possession in the middle third of the pitch then the superior scoring power provided by David Clifford, Dylan Geaney, and Paul Geaney should make them too hot to handle for Tyrone.

And even if it is a match of fine margins you'd fancy a Kerry bench that includes players like O'Shea, White, Burns, Tony Brosnan, and Keith Evans to make a decisive impact.
