Captain Obvious

Quote from: Rossfan on June 20, 2026, 12:32:38 PMAs we stand aside polishing the 5 Cups and saving €, best of luck to all the 8 teams playing over the weekend (incl the Rhubarbs😲).
Hopefully 4 good contests and large crowds and may the best teams win.

(I'm getting soft in my oul age!)

Donegal, Kerry, Monaghan to win while it will be level after extra time in Castlebar and decided on penalties.

Last year under the new rules most if not all of the good contests was in the provincial championships or group stage.  The knock out All-Ireland series including the two semi-finals and final was fairly underwhelming contests.

Under another new format and the knock out games so far this year, the round 2B games last weekend none would be considered overly good. The non jeopardy safety net and provincial championships games have been better games.

Round 3 today and tomorrow has the potential to have good contests so we'll see how they play.  Surely a more entertaining and memorable All-Ireland series than 2025, Its hyped up to be a wide open championship however as someone said such championships are normally won by Kerry.

What I'm expecting but has been plenty of upsets already this year. From next year probably neutral venues for the round 3 games?
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

RTE radio saying a crowd of 22k or 23k likely? Did I mishear or is it really only going to ve a little more than half full.
On another note, I really find it distasteful that they are paying multimillionaire IPAs landlord Banty to do co-commentator.
I presume his mate ConorMcManus was not available.

Vincent McManus should be no where near the tv either

Kerry
Mayo
Donegal
Down

All fairly predictable wins

With Clifford both in form kerry game will get ugly for Arrmagh.

McGeeney last game as Armagh gaffer

This kerry team is a better footballing than Dublin 6 in row team.

Ribeiro

Kerry team coming into form at right time. The Ulster shit nest at sign of kerry jersey.  Like 70s/80s again

Aaron Boone

White shoes mandatory for the GAA+ pundits.

Quote from: TyroneTam on June 20, 2026, 04:08:42 PMBright start by Armagh here

And intense. Doing all the early hard work.

Blowitupref

After 10 minutes Kerry 0-1 Armagh 0-4. But for some wasteful shooting Armagh would be further ahead.

Goal for Kerry, David Clifford talk about against the run of play.

Yup armagh wasted dominance, massive energy investment too.
