For the first 30 mins there really wasnt much between the teams.  Freiburg pressed high.  Villa struggled to retain possession and lumped a good few balls.  It did look like Freiburg were unlikely to have the required quality though.  In truth, much like the Champions league draw, there was a strong side of the draw and a weaker side.  The team coming through the Villa side of the draw would have been expected to win it.

The goals were all of such a high quality last night, and it would have been great for Buendia to finish that move to make it 4.  At least there was some quality on show in this year's final, unlike last year  ;)

A word for the likes of John McGinn who has soldiered with that team from the championship days.

Why is he leaving Palace? No backing or he just wants to move onto something bigger?

Sold a few good players from under his nose and no funds to replace them.

Olise and Eze being the main two.

They did spend decent money on that Strand Larsson lad from Wolves which I thought was strange considering he'd only scored 1 goal to that point and i don't think he's done a pile more since.

Had forgot about him to last night, 48mill and only on bench. I assume they thought mateta was/is leaving

Id say he is more than likely out the door especially with making the WC squad, if he features he is likely to get a big move somewhere.

Wrt Arsenal PSG, styles make fights, there was nothing between the sides last year, very happy going in as underdogs, I feel a watershed moment coming on Saturday akin to Capellos Milan

Also spent £35m on Brennan Johnson but he doesn't play much either.

Strange that Iraola is being linked to them. Bit of a sideways or even backwards move from Bournemouth.

PSG are raging hot favourites I'd have thought, but you'd have to give Arsenal a smidgen of hope.

If it's a borefest, then Arsenal could sneak it with a corner or long throw but European referees are more inclined to give frees for the barging and bolloxing about.

Is Ben White ready to get turned inside out?  ;D

Barca paying big bucks for Anthony Gordon while crying about the 30m it would take to buy Rashford.
