Watching on tv there, that McCarron sideline was a free out to Derry, Doherty pushed over the line.

We don't cope well as favourites. Monaghan are a massive bogey team for us, if we manage to get past Down I'd probably rather Derry, we've totally outclassed them the last couple of times we've met
It wpuld.be some disaster if Armagh dont win Ulster now. Pressures on

It's nicely set up for Down to win tomorrow and then go on and win Ulster.

With every passing year it shows how brilliant a manager RG was and how he had that Derry team flying.

Theyd have beat Monaghan by 15 plus today if he was in charge.

I do hope we are not overly humiliated in the Ulster final.

it doesn't look good for David Garland, came on as a sub and was subbed later on.

QuoteDo sideline balls count as two???

What a finish
Never really thought  about it until you said it.

Apparently they are

makes it even stranger  that 50's are still only one point

Baker has his hand on the ball how is this a free again? Not allowed to challenge in the air?? I'm genuinely asking!

Watching highlights, the look of dejection from Glass as McCarron's score goes over is incredible. Everyone else is walking out the field and he's standing completely motionless in the goal, holding onto the net in sheer disbelief.

Ah if someones firing over a sideline its far more deserving of 2 points than a 45.

It's nothing to do with that, it's the fact that someone going for, for example, a fisted score from 5 yards out, could miss as a result of a partial block from a defender and be rewarded with an opportunity to double his points.

There is a world of difference between a free and a 45, if you actually bother to think about them.

What if the 50 is  right on the sideline? ;)

Why any free worth 2 points, when a goal only worth 3.

The 'infringement' for the 45m  happens inside the inner arc, therefore not strange that its just 1 point.

Quote from: armaghniac on May 02, 2026, 06:52:20 PMHad some of the crowd left, there seems a lot of seats free? Shades of Armagh v Fermanagh 1993.

Monaghan have had some great old warriors, the likes of Beggan and McCarron.
That were Derry supporters who went missing,  probably shítting themselves in the toilets.
