No doubt in my mind Donegal were extremely complacent. Challenge games are what they are but I watched Armagh beat Fermanagh pretty handily in 2 separate warm up games, was very surprised at that scoreline last night tbh. Fermanagh a pretty big imposing side tho.

Following on Twitter, was it inside the small square or big one?

Looks a really harsh call

Post removed from X and the incident doesn't make the highlights posted this morning!!

Are they not allowed to show referee errors.

It's this type of covering up that annoys people more than actual mistakes I think.
No referee can get it right all of the time, but do the gaa think that by ignoring the mistakes or not acknowledging them that they'll just go away?

Wasn't at the game but by all reports Fermanagh were unlucky not to take the win.

Great to see a spark in our underage as we have been getting tanked regularly this past decade.

Massive game now against Antrim next week.
Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

Another two results

Down 1-12 Armagh 0-19
Fermanagh 2-11 Antrim 2- 7
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Was in Newry, Armagh looked to be running away with at ht 12.6 up after playing into the wind, Down got a goal and it all got very nervy for a long stretch but we regained our composure to win 0.19 to 1.12.

A lot of the Armagh big names really didn't fire, Eoin Duffy from Culloville probably my motm altho Fergal Boylan from Killeavy could do no wrong in the 1st half, must have scored 5 or 6, McGeary quiet in 1st half but scored 0.4 (singles) in 2nd. Couple of great defensive performers, big Burke in MF put in a great shift but made a couple of bad passes. Good win away from home with plenty to work on.

Cavan 1-14 Tyrone 0-15 FT

A win that puts Cavan in the national conversation for U-20 honours.

Cavan midfield of Clarke and Dugdale lorded the skies, Ben Tully very impressive at wing back and handled a sight of ball. Cavan not very flashy but moved the ball quite accurately in bad conditions even if they were a little too patient at times in recycling endlessly before taking on a shot. Cavan owned the ball for long stretches of the second half but hadn't Tyrone out of sight and it might well have ended differently with the visitors finally winning a few kickouts in the last exchanges, landing a big two-pointer and mounting some dangerous attacks, with Cavan players coughing up possession twice when trying to work the ball out. One of these might have brought a goal but the Tyrone forward failed to gather a pass and Cavan got it clear.

Notably, Cavan looked much bigger and stronger all over the field, and defended quite well at times. McDermott did most of the scoring for Tyrone and was very impressive but the visitors didn't carry much threat besides him.

The ref was fond of giving some frees for nothing and ignoring other blatant fouls throughout the game, the usual L-Plates official they let loose at this level that make tight matches a lottery and infuriate us all.

Anyway, that win will do wonders for that group of players, especially if they continue to perform in their other games. It'd give the county a boost for Jesus knows these are lean times indeed.

I thought that Tyrone U20 team looked a bit weaker on paper than what we usually put out. Still strong but a bit less quality. Don't think they could afford to be without McCullagh, you'd fancy Derry with the two All Ireland Minor teams still underage.

Apart from the 2 Ulster titles at U20 under Laverty , Down have been weak at underage for a long time now.

Unfortunately I'm not sure yet. Think this exact year is not the strongest Tyrone one. last 2 U20 winners, and minor last year but they're gone and the minors young, but this exact grouping of Tyrone at age 18-19 were beaten by Cavan at minor level in 2024 in the B All Ireland. Still great we got the win, just have to temper it slightly. Tyrone a one man team last night

Absolutely right. You'd just be delighted to see us picking up a win of any stripe against Tyrone, in these hungry times for Cavan county football teams. There are a few lads on the team that have a decent shot at coming through to senior too. Will be interesting to see how they fare against the other sides now.
