Consistently inconsistent is the basis of Division 2.

Kildare promotion pretty much dead and Cavan have some hope of survival now.

Real gritty from Cavan down the stretch to hold off Kildare which was a world away from the Tyrone game where they completely threw in the towel.

Kildare sounded a bit complacent from the bits of the match I heard.

Kildare just looked like a poor team.

Quote from: Truthsayer on February 22, 2026, 01:26:16 PMThere are a number of teams in that division are very poor including Meath, Offaly, Louth, Cavan...
Meath lost All Ireland semi-final to Donegal by 20 points last year and Leinster final to a poor Louth team albeit was a great occasion but dreadful standard of football.

Ooopps, you might want to re-visit that statement.

I'll revisit it during the summer.. that result is poor but be long forgotten by championship time.. the real money.
The signs aren't good no matter what way you want to dress it up. It's not like we are playing in D1. we are playing terrible football in D2. Hoping things change like a light witch in the summer is optimistic at best.

Meath second best all day today. Lost midfield. Menton hasn't got 70 minutes in him yet stayed on and we lost McBride to a head injury.

It was close enough coming up to half time but Cork got 1-4 is a couple of minutes and we couldn't close the gap. The red card to Maguire made for a close finish but I think the lack of depth in the squad is starting to tell a bit.

Big game next week and against Tyrone after but at the same time we need to rest some of the lads.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Tyrone could end up in Division 3 next year

Would be some craic if Hartes Offaly beat Tyrone all the same

GTP

Down got relegated last year with 6 points and Tyrone 7 from Division 1. Nothing certain in this Division until the final hooter goes. I think Offaly being so bad makes it easier to slip down unexpectedly.

ONeill

Are the matches cheaper in the Tailteann?
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Aaron Boone

Not sure on cost, but the Tailteann Cup threads on here have been dynamic with strong user interaction. It sounds like a soft landing going in there.

A decent club team would beat Offaly... zero points -42 pt difference.
Tyrone at home will bate Harte out the gates up the Ballygawley roundabout

Great to see Cork getting a big result like that would love to see them back in division 1.

For a team that has little following their social media posts get serious reaction maybe the most in the country

Have they alot of armchair supporters?

Hurling county, lot of them would want nothing to do with the big ball
