Quote from: Truthsayer on February 22, 2026, 01:26:16 PMThere are a number of teams in that division are very poor including Meath, Offaly, Louth, Cavan...
Meath lost All Ireland semi-final to Donegal by 20 points last year and Leinster final to a poor Louth team albeit was a great occasion but dreadful standard of football.

Ooopps, you might want to re-visit that statement.

I'll revisit it during the summer.. that result is poor but be long forgotten by championship time.. the real money.

Rossfan

Good oul Division 2 for putting cats among pigeons.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

They'll be in the Tailteann... hysteria!
We'll bate Offaly and Harte out the gate next day

Tyrone do realise they need  beat Cork and Meath to stay outta the bottom 3 encase Division 3 teams make it to Munster, Connacht finals, lucky last yr winner playing in Division 2 so it might not catch the No.5 team in the Division.

Yourself and Truthsayer post some awful nonsense on this thread.

Much improved performance from Cavan by the sounds of it.

If Kildare don't get the 2 points here promotion looks like the longest of long shots.

Cavan still have Offaly to play so they might yet have a hope of avoiding relegation if they can hang on for the win here.

3 upsets in Division 2 this weekend!

Consistently inconsistent is the basis of Division 2.

Kildare promotion pretty much dead and Cavan have some hope of survival now.

Real gritty from Cavan down the stretch to hold off Kildare which was a world away from the Tyrone game where they completely threw in the towel.

Kildare sounded a bit complacent from the bits of the match I heard.

cavanmaniac

Canavan factor notwithstanding, Louth sticking it to Tyrone today really exposes Cavan's sheer heartlessness last week, and deep-seated neurosis regarding the Red Hand ...but at least beating Kildare shows we still have a pulse in this Division 2. It was a mucky day for football by all accounts, a must-win game and a tight finish, and we saw it over the line. Can't ask for much more really.

Correct me if I'm wrong but we might not even end up in the same championship as most of the teams you've named

Then we bring it to the High Court to say the rule is not workable.
