not so sure on Colton either, wasn't impressed with him in mcrory cup games I saw. though he has a few more years at u20 level so should come..seems a bit part player that booms a score now and again as opposed to the 60mins player

Some lads on here are very difficult to impress

Onthe40

the big problem now I feel, is with minors being so young, with lads making it at 15-16 its then a big jump to u20s, where 2-3 years at that age bracket can see serious physical development..so the big dominant lad at 15/16 may not be at 19/20.....

Under 17 is far too young a marker for a good senior. Definitely at county level anyway

Derry ought to be the team to beat this year at u20. Seriously impressive back to back minor team to contend with

Still we should give it a good rattle.

The dook doesn't pay attention to reputation or past form. He goes on what he sees here and now. A ruthless man

Both Leo Hughes & Liam Lawn were on last years panel and if stories are correct, dropped for this year.

Dook record speaks for itself, all trophies won with a variety of back room teams but the same man leading the show - fair play to him

They'll be good club players I'm sure but don't think they'll be making a senior county team. That's not a knock on the lads, they are playing county football and have been picked as one of the best in the county in their age group but I just can't see them making the jump to senior.  And if you want positivity I  do think we have a serious U20 team. May be a year early for most of them but would say most of them lads have another year or 2 at least on the U20s. Think we have a brilliant team from number 1 the whole way through the bench. Even lads that have been left off the panel could easily be starting

You picked that previous post up wrong. They're still on the panel, just Tiernan Loughran dropped, the other 3 still there

Always good to hear the Under 20 chat, but that Derry team is top notch this year.

Hand of God

Is Tommy Taggart u20 this year? Thought he was a real standout for Clonoe and he has a bit of size too.

No, just going off word of mouth

Havnt seen fixtures anywhere either, but with the group stages in effect their first game must be early March time

The only announcement i seen was the captain (Conor Devlin) and vice captain (Conal Sheehy)

Not on panel. Probably doesn't offer enough outside of frees.

Derry haven't transitioned the U17s through to U20 as well as Tyrone. Seargent was a key player on them teams and he is likely to miss this campaign.

Last year was disappointing, but the previous year we lost to you in penalties in the Ulster final and i thought we were the better team. You went on to win the AI. The other year we had a big chance was when Rory Gallagher wouldn't let Lachlan Murray and Eoin McEvoy play in it.
