Quote from: Hand of God on February 11, 2026, 07:57:01 AMIs Tommy Taggart u20 this year? Thought he was a real standout for Clonoe and he has a bit of size too.

Was impressive i thought and good free taker as well
Not on panel. Probably doesn't offer enough outside of frees.

I do find that surprising.

There must be some talent in the county forward ranks at this grade right now if we can leave the likes of McGeary, Loughran and Taggart out.

Loughran was scoring heavily in club senior Championship last year and Taggart was one of the top scorers in the Intermediate Championship. McGeary was also a starter for Moy last year.

Any word coming out of camp for Cavan game? Massive game

Will we see Teague, McCurry or Brennan return?

Good to see we are capable of releasing team news earlier than a few hours before throw in. Not sure about persisting with Cassidy at wing back. No fault of his own. Prefer Daly in midfield

Going by past form that team won't start as named or lineout.
The more interesting reading is always who is on the bench

Expect to see Teague and Brennan in and possibly more

Yes. MOR should have decency to resign in that event.  ;D

He nailed a point about the quality in the middle 8 in 2021 vs now. I think Tyrone are somewhere from 7th-11th best team in Ireland at the minute. How many of the below could you argue are in the 'peak' of their career? Fairly underwhelming panel below, albeit there's a few missing.

Tyrone: Niall Morgan, Cormac Quinn, Aidan Clarke, Joey Clarke, Ben Cullen (0-01), Michael McKernan (0-02, 1tp), Ronan Cassidy, Brian Kennedy, Conor O'Neill (0-02, 1tp), Darragh Canavan (0-01), Conn Kilpatrick, Ciaran Daly (1-00), Eoin McElholm (0-01), Mattie Donnelly (0-01), Ethan Jordan (0-04, 3f, 1 '45).
Subs: Peter Teague for Kennedy (53); Matthew Og McGleenan for O'Neill (55), Lorcan McGarrity for Jordan (60), Brian Burns for McKernan (62).

I personally have Tyrone second or third. I don't get carried with league showings, I look at the collective strength of the squad and when we can deal our full hand its second or third strongest out there.
From the team at the weekend I expect changes before thrown in (as usual) mostly in the half back line - would like to see Brennan and Teague come in with one at 6, McKernan on the wing and Cassidy pushed into forward line. Good to see Seanie O'Donnell back on the panel. Brings a great injection of pace of the bench.
Morgan; Quinn Clarke Clarke; McKernan Brennan Teague; Kennedy Daly; Cassidy Conn O'Neill; McElholm Canavan Jordan. would be my ideal line up for the weekend.

Hand of God

I just don't see it personally with Ciaran Daly, he's been 4 years as a regular now but hasn't moved the dial at all.

Don't think he's aggressive enough for his size, he doesn't have great pace and his decision making lets him down a lot.

Hard to see Conroy come back from here with the likes of McCurry and Ruairi Canavan out and he's still not making the bench?

For Cavan I would like something along the lines of:

1. Morgan
2. C Quinn
3. A Clarke
4. J Clarke
5. McKernan
6. Teague
7. O'Donnell
8. Kennedy
9. Kilpatrick
10. Oguz
11. McElholm
12. Donnelly
13. Canavan
14. McGarrity
15. Jordan

Ttm saying Joey Clarke hamstring injury from queens game.

Why's the story with Hampsey? Needs some games quick

Could be a good opportunity to give Michael Rafferty a start so if Clarke is gone. Clarke has started the campaign very well and looks one of the few u20s of recent years ready to hit the ground running.

I wasn't a fan of spitter when he was playing or coaching so I'm not going to pay him much attention now.
Granted we haven't had a great start but its very early days

No real standout this week in the Macrory Cup. Not to be hateful but maybe one of the worst Macrory final performances I've seen in a while
