Thought mcglennon, Jordan and Conroy decent enough tonight. Some poor performances. Who impressed others?

Good to see Kennedy back but rusty

Conroy has been poor enough all 3 games. He is accurate from free's but also kicks a lot of silly snapshots and gives the ball away far too often. Doesn't matter that much as he'll be nowhere near that forward line come championship time

He's kicked 1-5 from play in last two games, been involved in a few goals and linked play well. Long way to go to make it in the summer but it's been a decent start.

Jordan looked very lively tonight, pity he went off at half time with presumably an injury.

Conroy was the top scorer across the 3 games?

Michael Conroy – 14 pts (1-11 total)
Ethan Jordan – 10 pts(0-10 total)
Mattie Donnelly – 8 pts (1-5 total)

It was refreshing to see two natural attackers in the forward line for once. Him and Jordan are a positive addition.

The Academy and Omagh CBS in separate semi finals of the MacRory
Dean Maguirc and Holy Trinity in separate semi finals of the MacLarnon
St Ciaran's Ballygawley in semi final of the Markey
St Joseph's Coalisland won the Pat King Cup this week

An absolute credit to the schools and underage coaches around the county that we can be this competitive at schools, county minor and county U20 year in year out. We are set up to be competitive at county senior level for years to come off the back of this.

While Kieran McGeeney has done an unreal job with Armagh you feel that they have more chance of slipping back into the pack eventually with less coming through, we should be there or therabouts for the forseeable

Injury updates from Peter Canavan in the Irish News today. Darragh not fit for the first few games of the year and Niall Devlin and Ruairi out for 6 weeks with hamstring injuries.

Not ideal but it leaves opportunities for others. We seen no sign of Hampsey or Teague in McKenna Cup and I don't think McGarrity, Daly or McElholm featured at Sigerson this week.

For Kildare I would be going along the lines of:

1. Morgan
2. Clarke
3. Brennan
4. C Quinn
5. McKernan
6. Burns
7. O Donnell
8. Kennedy
9. Kilpatrick
10. Oguz
11. C Donaghy
12. Gormley
13. Cassidy
14. Donnelly
15. Conroy

We seem like we are down a lot of attackers. McCurry not on the bench midweek, 2 Canavans injured, McGarrity taken off in a Sigerson game last week and not named on Sigerson squad this week, no sign of McElholm yet or Daly. Jordan having to be taken off midweek. That's potentially 7 forwards not available.

Think it would only leave McCullagh and Bogue as options on the bench.

Armagh got to an All Ireland Minor Final in 2024 and have had Dromintee win an Ulster Minor club this year, so there should be some decent stuff coming through.

What McGeeney has been very good is identifying the top few underage players each year and fast tracking them to the senior team whenever the overall underage teams have not been great.

The work an underage in Tyrone certainly does need commended.

Id question your CF choice in C Donaghy. Had a bad day at the office against monaghan during the week. Missed 2 or 3 scoring chances and out fetched in the middle. A Donaghy feels better suited.

C Donaghy had an amazing club championship campaign and as a result Ive seen him feature in many top 15 squads. But you're only as good as your last game as the saying goes.

I thought he was one of our better players against Monaghan.

But he definitely shouldn't be starting at 11.

Hand of God

We will likely be short forwards v Kildare so we might have to shove a few middle third players there.

2 Canavans and McElholm are out as per Irish News and there could be doubts over Jordan, McCurry, McGarrity and Daly, so in that case it becomes a question of who plays and a shortage of natural forwards looks likely.

In things that'll never happen, it would be nice to see McKernans directness given a go at 11

I can see where you're coming from but players like that are often better coming from a deeper position. I remember Armagh tried it with Aaron Kernan and it never really worked albeit they are slightly different players.

McKernan was our best player by a distance last season. His injury was a disaster for us.

McKernan has been our best player by a distance for the last 2/3 seasons. Arguably should have got an All Star before now

Hand of God

I think it's important you try and use someone like McKernan where he's best and for me that's at wing back with a license to drive on and kick scores. He can play all across the backline but that's where he get the most value from him. That Devlin is now emerging as a sticky marker should allow us to release McKernan in that situation.
