I can see where you're coming from but players like that are often better coming from a deeper position. I remember Armagh tried it with Aaron Kernan and it never really worked albeit they are slightly different players.

McKernan was our best player by a distance last season. His injury was a disaster for us.

McKernan has been our best player by a distance for the last 2/3 seasons. Arguably should have got an All Star before now

I think it's important you try and use someone like McKernan where he's best and for me that's at wing back with a license to drive on and kick scores. He can play all across the backline but that's where he get the most value from him. That Devlin is now emerging as a sticky marker should allow us to release McKernan in that situation.

It's v difficult to pick a team that will start v Kildare. Orourke be keen to get a few returning injured lads game time plus rewarding a few lads who have done well. Think the first number of games will be difficult but by end of league hopefully we will see where we are at

Mckernan no6, Teague no3, Devlin no2, Matty no13, McCurry no11, Darragh, Jordan, Conroy,  the rest are easy
