Quote from: J70 on January 05, 2026, 12:39:45 PMReally enjoyed the new Frankenstein film from Guillermo Del Toro. I've never read the actual book, but supposedly the movie is relatively faithful to it.

Enjoyed this too.  Typical Del Toro style.

Yeah enjoyed it

Quote from: gallsman on December 30, 2025, 05:51:46 PMThe first one was genuinely brilliant. Second one was a complete mess.

Spot on.

Watched the films in order since reading this thread the other night.

I purposely did not go near these films as I thought they weren't my cup of tea but enjoyed them. Except for the second wan

Finally watched Wake Up Deadman. Really enjoyed it. Streets ahead of the second one but still nowhere near as good as the first one, although no idea how much of that with the first one is the novelty factor.

Some cast in it. Great exposure for Daryl McCormack. Thought he was excellent.

bennydorano

Watched the Kenny Dalglish doc on Prime. Very enjoyable

Rawhide

+ 1. He comes out a very genuine decent man.
cccc is a true supporter lol

Just fixed that for LL ;)

Mourne Red

Was on the watch list for a while, The Long Walk (2025) gripped the whole way through thought it was excellent

One Battle After Another

Fun, action film. DiCaprio is good as a washed-up, stoned, former leftist terrorist trying to raise his daughter under an assumed identity, but Sean Penn steals the show as a far right colonel out to cover his past tracks as he tries to get accepted for membership in a wealthy, secret, elite white supremacist club. The background stuff is very on topic for what's going on in the US with Trump's immigration round-ups.

Watched  all the Indiana Jones films over Christmas .

1 and 2 were decent. Last Crusade probably the best

Crystal skull one - what were  they thinking? It was awful

Apparently there was a  more recent one as well.  Who  knew?!  Is it any good?

I thought dial of destiny was enjoyable. Some of the CGI is desperate though the Indiana Jones de-aged scenes look like a playstation 2 game ;D

Definitely better than Crystal Skull but well behind the "originals".

It is watchable tbf but just don't watch it with high expectations. The crystal skull one is barely watchable.

Banks of the Bann

I tried to watch both Crystal Skull and Dial of Destiny and failed both attempts. And I loved all 3 of the previous Indiana Jones films.

Great Franchise, let down very badly by the last two movies.
