IMO MOR give him the 'opportunity' to retire rather than drop/cut him ( of which he was one of a group of older lads whose time had come). 21 was one thing but the thing I admire about him is that he never dropped his standards the the few v poor years after AI and was really consistent - but with the type of injury he picked up and at the age he was always on the way down.

BUT with praise and admiration there has to come criticism recently with his woke exploits on everything under the sun regarding his doctorate and gpa bullshit etc. it became more of Conor using Tyrone and Tyrone getting nothing in return so, I will expect a deluge of interviews and podcasts where he will plug his nose tape and his thoughtful empathic opinions for anything that's topical

Fantastic player for us. Really came into his in the Dooher Logan years. As has been said would definitely been my FOTY in 2021. Improved his game and footballing ability year on year but sadly injuries caught up with him in his prime years.

Now is the time for another to seize their chance.

bogball88

Could he not give Omagh a year or 2? Even their stiffs or thirds? Perhaps that wouldn't suit him

SoloAndGo

Lads, any Tyrone managers looking posts for next year?

Hand of God

Still all very quiet on new call ups. McCullagh and Joey Clarke so far the only new call ups that have publicly been reported.

McGeary not back until at earliest the end of the league. Meyler and Bradley gone. Futures of Harte, Donnelly, Burns, Brennan, Morgan, McCurry, Hampsey,Michael O'Neill probably all not certain with their age profile.

You'd be expecting there should be 10 plus new faces that weren't on the panel last season for the McKenna Cup. Hopefully guys like Rafferty, McHugh, O'Hare, McGarrity etc see plenty of minutes during the league to bring them on as serious options this year.

Onthe40

dont expect hampsey, donnelly, brennan, mccurry, morgan to go anywhere
harte maybe pondering, had a quiet 2025 tbh
burns showd in club championship the quality he has, might get another year from him

was impressed with miller omagh, muldoon eglish, quinn dungannon, to nam ebut a few

Clonoe surprisingly dont really have anyone putting the hand up that i saw, for a team that completely dominated intermediate

Paul Donaghy
Ruairi Mccullagh
Michael Rafferty
Danny Fullerton
Conor Oneill

I've been impressed with Shea Coney from clonoe. Believe he was in the development team last year

A very athletic player with great physical attributes but I am not convinced by his skillset. I wonder if he could be manufactured into a tough man marker?
It is what it is. Presumably.

We seem to have an abundance of scoring forwards in the county. We currently have McCurry and the Canavans who we know can be heavy scorers with the right service.

Outside of last year's panel you have the likes of Donaghy, Jordan, Conroy, Dillon, Fullerton etc who are hitting serious scores on the club scene.

Hard to see how all of those can be accommodated and kept happy while keeping the right balance in the team. Half forward line being really lacking in recent years. We've struggled to find a balance between industry, playmaking and scores. I think it kind of shows how important Niall Sludden was when on his game.

I'd like to see McElholm at 11 this year. Daly and SOD really need to kick on a few gears this year and find that consistency.

I saw Oisin Miller mentioned earlier and think he's a good shout. He's a different type of forward to what we have - pacey, direct and he's a bit of height too.

Daly from omagh also got the call up along with Clarke and mccullagh from the u20s.

Do you want to see those 7 forwards mentioned to feature instead of Mc curry, darragh, Ruiri, mcelholm, o donnell, Donnelly etc or do you want Tyrone to just play them all and forget about the other positions?

Good call ups. Three players we can expect to see in the team for the next ten years. Probably looking at 2027 for them to really get going but. I would say you won't see much change coming in 2026, more so in 2027 and beyond as Hampsey, Brennan, McGeary, Burns, Mattie, Peter Harte and McCurry step away.
Big thing I think Tyrone need to sort in 2026 is a half forward line that has kickout options and scores. Personally I think Cathal Donaghy on the wing and Lorcan McGarrity off 11 has the most potential at nailing down these positions.
2026:
Morgan
Teague/Quinn/Clarke
Hampsey
Devlin
McKernan
Brennan
McGeary
Kennedy
Kilpatrick
Daly
McGarrity
Cathal Donaghy
McCurry
Darragh Canavan
McElholm

Teague/Quinn/Clarke
o'Donnell
Burns
Oguz
McDonnell
Ruairi Canavan
Mattie
Harte
Conor O'Neill
Ruairi McCullagh
Callum Daly
Joey Clarke

Thats a strong side and panel for 2026 and should be looking at an Ulster Title and probably last four again.

I liked what Teague brought to the team last year and would have him starting. I think the team will end up soemthing like you named but not many at the moment are sure of their position. Shea Ohare is putting in the s&C work and will be keen to put the mayo game behind him
