Quote from: Ethan Tremblay on November 10, 2025, 03:24:49 PMThe main reason I got mine is for what has already been mentioned, too many cnuty drivers about doing daft things.  Almost on a weekly basis I will see some genuine dumb shit like reversing onto a main road or overtaking in stupid places.

Or a truck that decides to reverse across a level crossing!

I had an R driver pull out in front of me (at 45mph) joining the M1 from the Applegreen outside Lisburn. I was being overtaken at the time so couldn't move over - scary how new drivers are taught how to reverse around a corner but aren't taught how to drive on a motorway!

How could it be used against you if it shows they are at fault?

Do you de care you have it to your insurance?  Or just use it in the event of your own needs.
Id say insurance will prob knock a tenner of your quote.

Could the other parties insurance company ask to see any footage and use any misdemeanour against you eg being over the speed limit etc. even if the other party appears at fault.

You can show them if you want.. Its yours not the insurance company..

Dash cams are  a lot more common . Footage would obviously cut down on claims ,  yet we're all been ripped off when it comes to car insurance.

Mine has practically doubled in  the last two years. Many are the same. So why aren't  costs  coming down?

Because the f**kers are interested in their bottom line only, and they know that we've no choice because of the police state we live in but to pay it..

I usually check oil level , coolant,  fluids etc every week or two.

Last few weeks I've had to top up the coolant a couple of  times,  something which I've  rarely had to do in the past.

At the same time, the  warm air  heater in car isn't what it  should be either.  It's not very warm , as it normally is, even after the car is driven a long way.

Would the two be connected?

No leaks under  the car, so I'm assuming that's not the issue.

Any thoughts?

Get it checked. I fucked my first car by knowing nothing about cars and not making the connection you at least have made. My windows kept misting up as there was no heat in the blowers and I presumed it was a heater issue than a lack of coolant in the radiator issue until it was too late and the engine seized. Scrapped the car.

My insurance in the 26 counties is substantially less than it was 30 years ago.

Definately a leak in radiator. How long before you re-fill it?

I had same problem. Had to keep topping it up but then I had to top it up more often and then it got to point where I was carrying big bottles of water in boot.

I even put rad. leak stuff in as it's supposed to plug any small hole but I had a bigger problem as it was some sort of connection to rad. But you could try and get a can of that stuff first in a car spares shop and see does it work?

It's linked to heating system in car also. My car had no warm air either.

If the can of repair stuff doesn't work, get it checked out at a mechanic's asap.

Is there not a sensor in the car for sort of thing?
