Quote from: ClubScene13 on September 11, 2025, 02:28:24 PMWho says it was a sanction to USA? If it had been a permanent to Kevin Barry's and a permanent back to Derrytresk would this not be fine or is it still a problem as you're coming back to a different club in the same parish?

It's listed in the live sanctions on GAA website.

Oh dear. How did the Kevin Barry's to Derrytresk make it this far as this then? I thought all transfers went to club chairmen, county board level, GAA themselves. Would someone not of noticed this

bigtogs

Quote from: Sean Og Patriots on September 11, 2025, 01:50:39 PMCiaran played July 24 in USA.

Errigal too big of a club to put in a complaint surely?

From my knowledge Clonoe held up the transfer.

So shouldn't Clonoe also be held accountable for holding a young cub from playing Gaelic football?  (amateur sport) Ciaran also trained & travelled to games while waiting on transfer, which I'm sure was highly frustrating.

Clonoe sour on the fact he wanted to move. Ciaran relatively young and huge potential.

I assume he got the green light.

and...

don't forget 14 other players on the pitch.  :P  :P  :P

Complete crap we(Clonoe) found out Cairan was playing for Derrytresk when he gave an interview in Irish which was put onto Facebook, our secretary contacted Derrytresk reference transfer Derrytresk were under the impression transfer was sorted and did not need our authorisation!!! So out of our hands we would not have held the transfer up as it is an inter parish transfer and would go through anyway... we had our suspicions all was not above board but would be amazed if Derrytresk had not checked out the ruling!! Looks like they didn't..

Ciaran magee never transferred properly and is apparently playing illegally. Investigation underway

Their objection has highlighted their own ineligible player and might come back to bite them

Key player towards the end of the league campaign, Surely if correct and proven it will bring the league into question also.

I also notice the CCC have fixed the first of the 3b Playoff games, although highly unlikely but this fixture would change IF Derrytresk or Brackaville win the Championship.

Don't come at me, I did say its highly unlikely but it is a possibility.

Did he transfer between Clonoe and Derrytresk (Can only be done before 1st March) or from a USA club to Derrytresk? (Has to return to home club first and would be shown on the transfers section of GAA website)

Word on the street is no (Could be wrong). Just a sanction from Clonoe to Kevin Barrys in July 2024.

Struggling to find the sanction from Clonoe to Kevin Barrys but he definitely transferred back from K.barrys to d/tresk in JULY 2025 league campaign also likely under threat if someone in D/tresk hasnt done their paperwork  :o  :o

Its on GAA Website under Sanctions and permits.

I don't think this is possible as he went on a sanction not a transfer. A sanction allows a player to play for a Club in an area governed by the USGAA Board from 1 March to the end of October in any one year or 60 days, after which the player is free to play for his original "home" club.

A transfer from Clonoe would be required regardless and wouldn't be approved after March 2025.

Open to correction

Good man, found it there

Ciaran Magee    Tyrone    Clonoe O'Rahillys CLG    Intermediate    Intermediate    Kevin Barrys    USGAA    6/7/2024

Thats the outgoing transfer as dates July 24

Ciaran Magee    Tyrone    Derrytresk Fir an Chnoic  Kevin Barrys    USGAA    7/3/2025

Incoming back to Ireland as dated July 25, League near wrapped up at home at this point  :o

outrageous carry on if Derrtresk have possibly put their foot in it with this transfer as speaking to Hill men they were always going to be on the up with or without him..

If that is the case and all is above board then there's a glaring loophole in the system.

It would mean that any player currently on a sanction in the USA can be transferred to any home club mid season/pre championship.

Effectively - for example, If a home player wants a transfer after the March deadline they could in theory log into Foireann, transfer to a USA club via a sanction wait 60 days and then do an inter county transfer mid season to a neighbouring club. MADNESS!!

Directly from the GAA rule book in section 6.6 intercounty transfers (Which applies to USA)
(i) A player who transfers from one County to another
County, and within 96 weeks thereafter transfers
back to the former County, shall rejoin the Club of
which he was a member prior to the initial transfer.

So my understanding is he would have to transfer back to Clonoe before transferring to Derrytresk

That was my knowledge of it also. I am led to believe all is above board but I can't see how it is with the above scenario I posted. 🤷🏻♂️

Hope Errigal and Ardboe have checked and double checked the team sheet tonight 🤣

Quote from: Jerome on September 11, 2025, 02:16:37 PMOh Kyle. What have you done. I would imagine Derrytresk will be disqualified for this. 3B again next year. Will be a big blow to the club. Tattyreagh have the right to move forward into 3A.

Don't think Kyle coney will be too annoyed, by the rumours he won't be there next year anyways
